Chapter 13
For weeks Gail and Jorah would meet up in the kitchen and have fun together. Most of the time they just hung around in the castle or cooked something. But even though Gail was having a good time, she missed her family and friends. She had been gone for 28 days and had still not gotten an answer as to why Kobe had taken her to the castle.
Something that also bothered her was the fact that she was really fond of Jorah and that she knew she was partly using him. It wasn't that their friendship was fake. She just had an ulterior motive.
Today though, Jorah wasn't able to meet with her seeing how he had to do a job for Kobe. Gail vaguely remembered how it had something to do with finding out what ingredients were used for a French dish, but couldn't quite recall what exactly.
Kobe and her had not had a proper conversation since the day she met Jorah. He would leave early in the morning without waking her and would stay up until he was sure she was back in the room. Gail still slept on the floor. She couldn't say she minded since her body didn't ache like you would expect it to do. At first she found it a bit strange, but after a while she just shrugged it off.
Today Gail had slept in. She had skipped breakfast and had eaten scrambled eggs as lunch before she started wandering around the castle. Since Jorah and she mostly just stayed on the ground and first floor she had never really seen the rest of the castle. Time to change that.
After half an hour Gail realised that Kobe's castle was boring. The only thing there was to see were empty rooms and toilets. That didn't keep her from opening every single door and though she found the same behind every one of them, she still felt the thrill of not knowing what she was about to discover.
She had reached the end of the hallway on the second floor when she opened the last door.
Gail nearly had a heart attack when she saw that the room was occupied. By a girl, to be more precisely. She was sleeping soundly, only her head not covered by the blanket.
Shit, Gail thought, hopefully I didn't wake her.
She quickly closed the door. When she saw Kobe standing behind it she let out an ear splitting scream.
"What were you doing in there?" he all but growled, his eyes full of fury.
Gail had seen Kobe angry before, but this was definitely ten times worse. She would choose the aggressive Kobe over this terrifyingly threatening Kobe every day.
"Nothing!" Gail honestly said. "I was just exploring and opened this door by accident!"
"You are never to enter that room! Never, you hear me!" Kobe yelled and Gail nodded furiously.
As she ran away from him she couldn't help but wonder who the sleeping girl whom Kobe was so protective over really was.

"Can I see the map one more time, Amandine?" Liesa asked, seemingly nervous.
"Of course you can," Amandine said and handed her the scroll.
Liesa's eyes scanned the paper. She started nodding slowly.
It had been three weeks since Amber almost drowned and she still hadn't woken up. Her being in some sort of coma worried the younglings a lot. They had no clue what to do in this kind of situation and could only hope that Amber would survive when she wasn't getting any food or water.
At first Vic was the one who carried Amber around, but after a week the boys agreed on taking turns. Liesa even made a floating platform out of water, on which they put Amber. Nina and Amandine wanted to help, but were pretty useless in this case. Nina wasn't strong enough to carry Amber and everyone agreed on the fact that it was too dangerous to put Amber on her back when she had changed into a dragon. Walking is pretty hard as a dragon, so Nina would be obligated to fly and with Amber on her back the chance of her falling off was pretty big. Amandine simply didn't have any powers and didn't have enough strength either.
