Chapter 7
"Kobe! Let me out of here!" Gail screamed while pounding her fists on the closed door. Blood was streaming down her arms because of the open wounds caused by the cuffs and Kobe's manhandling.
"Kobe!"
She started sobbing as she slumped down against the door. The four identical walls seemed to be coming closer and closer, making her feel as if she was locked inside a small cage.
It started getting harder to breath and Gail curled up in a ball.
"Kobe!" she screeched desperately, kicking her feet against the door as hard as she could. "Let me out!"
When she heard no response she finally gave up and let unconsciousness take over.

Amandine stood up shakily, brushing the dirt of her clothes. Her eyes took in the shocked younglings who stood in front of her, jaws dropped.
Matthieu was the first one to react.
"What the hell are you doing here, Amandine? I thought we agreed that only the supernaturals would be going! Have you got any idea what danger you brought upon yourself and what kind of responsibility on us?" he yelled and the others could have sworn that steam was coming out of the shifter's ears.
"No, you agreed that only the supernaturals would be going! Not me! Plus, I can take perfect care of myself, thank you very much! You don't have to babysit me so I honestly don't understand what the problem is!" Amandine shouted, her voice filled with newfound confidence.
Matthieu sighed, obviously annoyed. "Whatever, you're here now anyway. So be it."
"Don't mind him, Amine ( ' ) , he's just worried about you," Jaron said, friendly as always, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder," I'm glad you're here and I bet the rest is too!"
"Of course we are!" Nina said enthusiastically and hooked her arm through Amandine's.
"Yeah, we're happy you're here," Vic said, smiling broadly.
Liesa and Amber were just about to declare how they were also very pleased with Amandine's presence when Matthieu turned around and interrupted.
"It's a long way to go. We better start walking." He stared at the place where the portal had been floating only minutes ago and said : "There's no way back now, so there's no use in staying here either."
With those words he turned around and started walking, the others hot on his heels. Amandine fastened her pace so she was walking next to the upset shifter.
"Matthieu?"
"Hmm."
"Are you still angry?"
Matthieu sighed and looked at the ginger girl who was staring back at him with a tender look in her eyes.
"I guess I'm not," he mumbled, which made Amandine smile. She didn't like it when people were mad at her, certainly not those she cared for. "Can I see the map?" She asked and Matthieu handed it over.
The map looked like it was older than her grandparents' grandparents with the dishevelled sides and brownish colour. There were two islands drawn on it. One of them was obviously Agmardor, but the other one was called Sublevonis. Not really caring about the small island they were not planning on going to, Amandine let her eyes wander over Agmardor.
There wasn't really that much to see. A forest was the only thing she could clearly make out. That and the castle.
"What does this mean?" She asked Matthieu, pointing at the symbol of two horizontal lines with an oval in between.
He shrugged.
"I don't know. It's probably nothing to worry about though," he said reassuringly.
They would later look back at this and laugh.
When Gail woke up she wasn't laying on the floor anymore.
She sat up straight and took in her surroundings. Slowly but surely she started recognizing the huge living room by the massive bookshelves and the beautiful carpet. When she looked to her right she almost had a heart attack when she met Kobe's piercing blue eyes.
"What. Happened?" Kobe asked, a murderous look on his face.
Gail just stared at him, too dumbfounded to say a thing. Kobe grabbed her shoulders, pulling her up. "I asked you something! Answer me!" He spat, shaking the fairy roughly. His eyes were bloodshot from hysteria and he looked at Gail like he wanted to kill her with his bare hands. The girl, wincing in pain, wanted to get away from him more than ever.
When she didn't react he pushed her away, causing her to collapse on the floor.
"I don't know!" Gail shouted.
Kobe started pacing around the room.
"You don't get it! I need you for this," he muttered absent-mindedly.
"I need to...succeed."
He stopped walking. "Did you try to commit suicide?"
Gail stood up slowly, not taking her eyes off the short-tempered boy in case he were to attack her again.
"No, I didn't," she said truthfully.
"What happened then?" Kobe asked and Gail started to get calmer now that the look in his eyes had softened.
"I'm claustrophobic," Gail said quietly, "When I realised the door was locked I felt like I was trapped between those four walls forever."
"You're claustrophobic?" Kobe repeated bewilderedly.
Gail nodded, unsure how to react to his rhetorical question.
"Come with me," he said and grabbed her hand. When Gail hissed out in pain Kobe looked at her wrists. To say it wasn't a pretty sight would be an understatement. He let go of her hands and turned around.
"Kenneth!" He yelled, and in less than twenty seconds the neko boy appeared in the room.
"Get those wounds cleaned out," he ordered and Kenneth immediately made his way to an adjoining room. Gail stared at Kobe, not understanding his motives at all.
"Why are you helping me?" She asked, making Kobe look up from her wrists.
"If we don't take care of that cut, it'll get infected."
A smile played on Gail's lips when she heard this. Did he still care for her? Maybe the old Kobe was still somewhere inside of him.
But with what he said next he ruined every positive thought she had left.
"You're of no use to me when you're dead."
