As I moved through the familiar corridor, I stopped in front of a large door, that is Varun Bhai's study.

For a moment, I simply stood there, staring at the wooden surface. Then I twisted the knob and pushed the door open.

The moment I stepped inside, the familiar scent wrapped around me. The room smelled strongly of coffee, mixed with the faint lingering smell of cigarettes.

I shook my head lightly.

I really need to talk to Bhai. He should not be smoking.

Walking further in, I approached the table. I placed the files in my hand down carefully, arranging them neatly, aligning them with the already perfectly organized piles on the desk.

My gaze slowly drifted around the room. My eyes softened when I spotted one of the many paintings I had gifted him over the years, hanging proudly on the wall.

A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips. As my eyes continued wandering across the study, they landed on the eagle showpiece placed at the corner of the room.

And immediately, something felt wrong. It was slightly tilted. It wasn't facing the proper direction. It wasn't aligned with the edge of the table the way it should be.

Ugh.

I let out a quiet breath. Blame my OCD, because now my heart will not calm down until I fix its position.

And before my brain could argue otherwise, my legs had already started moving toward it. Because clearly, that eagle needed saving from its terrible placement.

I touched the golden eagle showpiece and tilted it in the right direction.

But then I heard a strange sound. A faint shift. Like something moving.

My brows furrowed. I slowly turned back, scanning the room behind me. But there was nothing. Everything looked exactly the same.

Maybe I imagined it. Shaking the thought away, I turned my attention back to the eagle and adjusted it again.

And again, that strange noise came. A soft movement like something has shifting.

This time my head snapped back immediately, my eyes sweeping across the room more carefully.

Still nothing. But then my gaze fell on Varun Bhai's table. And suddenly, a thought crossed my mind. The table, it looked like it had shifted slightly.

My eyes narrowed. Could it be possible?

Keeping my eyes fixed on the table, I slowly turned the eagle again, just a little, testing the thought forming in my head.

And the moment I tilted it—The table moved.
