Maheer knew this would happen.

She stares at Atharyu as he sits there as cool as a cucumber, while she stands there like a mistake pretending to be human.

It feels that the universe is always looking at her and saying, "Sweetheart... let's give you a plot twist."

She should have at least doubted if there was any trap, but no. Like an idiot, she walked straight in, taking the brothers as well.

And now Atharyu is facing the consequences.
Because of her.
Because she can't do anything without leaving a trail of destruction.

All her life, she thought she was trouble for the people who raised her.
Turns out, she's just universally hazardous.
A one-woman natural disaster.

I look at him again.
He lifts his gaze, as if sitting in jail is a minor inconvenience. And she is the only one spiraling.

Seeing the series of events happening, she begins to question, 'Let's see who gets tired first.'
She
or Fate.

Even the idea of sitting in the police station without any crime can make the person go pale, but here Atharyu sat on the chair like it was his living room and like it was some other normal day, his back straight, shoulder relaxed, and one leg casually crossed over the other.

Some might think he was waiting for his evening tea, not facing charges for illegal drugs found in a warehouse registered under his name.

Inspector Jatin Kumar stood opposite him with hands on his hips.

"Mr. Rajput, the warehouse is legally yours. We found unregistered narcotics inside. What do you have to say?"

"There's a mistake," Atharyu said without even blinking. "Give it a few minutes. My people are looking into it." He spoke the way he existed.

Behind the officer's back, Maheer stood near the wall, her arms folded tightly around herself. Her chest was aching with guilt as if someone had tucked knives inside her ribs.

To her, it doesn't matter that they might have hurt her numerous times, but Maheer couldn't bear the sight of someone getting in trouble because of her. People might call her a fool for this, but she can't help it because this is built in to her.

Adarsh stood near the door. And at the corner, Kabeer sat on a plastic chair, looking like a scolded puppy, his hands on his knees and eyes on the ground.

The door swung open suddenly.

Breathless Aarav walked in first, Shaurya right behind him with his calm doctor face masking whatever thought storm was swirling underneath. Avni followed behind them. Her worried expression made Maheer drowned in another wave of guilt.

Even their sister is suffering because of her. And the brother might not like it.

Aarav went straight to Maheer.
"Are you okay?" he asked in a low voice, and Maheer could feel a little tremble in it.
