"Oh, wow. That´s not just a broken wheel."
they all stare down, into a big hole, where a shattered carriage with all it´s goods is laying. "How did you even manage to get that down there, without falling in there yourself?"
"Well, it´s a bit embarrassing, but I´ve fallen to the ground and then, the carriage rolled down the hill, into the hole."
"Okay."
The witch, or, Sag, jumps down. Rufus follows him.
"W-wait! You can´t just jump down. How are you supposed to get out now?"
Both of them ignore him. Instead, all their attention goes to the goods on the ground. Multiple different things are laying around. The majority looks normal, for a human Salesman. But there are some things, that seem off for him to have. Like books, with letters that look similar to the ones, the little witch is using.
"Say, what did you mean earlier, when you said, you would do your job a little more professionally than others?"
he picks up the book, and looks through it.
"Well, you see. Humans only sell things for humans, and other creatures only sell things for other creatures. I, however, prefer to make deals with both. I don´t understand why, others of my kind, keep the reputation of witches, demons or other creatures, so low. Most of the time, they turn these people into monsters and completely ignore their good sides. I´d like to stay out of that circulation and welcome everyone in my store. Even if that is a little hard to maintain, without getting killed. But it works so far."
"Alright, that´s noble, I guess." With an irritated expression he looks at the book. It says something about an enchanting spell, which will help repair armor or tools, when they crack. Sag closes the book and starts looking around.
"Do you have any bags, we could carry this with, old man?" Annoyed, the man looks down. "No, I wasn´t planning to carry it on my back. And could you stop calling me that? I might not look the youngest, but I am far away from death."
"Whatever you say."
Sag clearly didn´t listen to all words, the man´s said. Together with Rufus, he is searching for a way, to transport all these things. After a short while, he gets an idea.
"Alright, big guy,"
the witch takes off his bag and fills it with as much stuff as he can.
"Would you be so kind, to carry this?"
He hands the bag to the creature, which takes the sling of it between his teeth.
"Now to the fun part."
"Hey, what are you doing?"
The man watches as the little person starts dismantling the carriage more.
"Hey!"
"Shut up, geez. I am trying to help you."
He starts throwing away some wreckages, till he pulls out a big blanket, that was taut on top of the carriage, to protect the luggage from rain. As he lays the blanket, fully stretched, on the ground, he starts to place anything that he can find, from the man´s goods, on it. After he's done, the witch folds and ties the blanket over the stuff and binds it all on his back, as if he is carrying a large bag. Both the wolf and the man, are staring at the witch with confusion. "What?"
"Uhm, nothing, it´s just.., you´re.. you´re really strong."
"If you say so."
He turns to Rufus.
"I wouldn´t ask for this normally and I accept if you throw me to the ground, later on. But can I sit on your back, while you climb back up? It´s kinda difficult to carry this and climb."
Rufus hesitates and they both stare at eachother for an awkward moment. Then the animal gets on the ground and waits till the person is sitting on his back. He carries them and the bag up the hole, and walks past the man. After Sag jumped down from the mighty beast, his attention goes back to the man. "So, where is your house?"
"Ah, yeah, right. This way, please."
The man starts walking into a certain direction.
