After a few more minutes, Trevor arrives back at the house. "Oh...,what,..are you leaving?"
he looks at the witch, who is now completely dressed and just swung their backpack on their back.
"Yeah, I don´t wanna stay amongst humans, that want me dead, for too long."
"I don´t want you dead."
"Yeah, but I can´t stay hiding, in here, forever. The fastes I´ll leave, the saver it is for you." "Okay. But before you leave, would you mind following me into the store? I have some things for you and your friend, as a thank you, for yesterday."
The witch nods and follows him into the adjacent building. Rufus takes a seat, outside and looks inside, through a window. Trevor disappears behind the counter. As he re-appears, he´s holding some things. Some potions, regeneration potions, food and some medical things. He also lays two other things on the counter. A big, really big bag, and something wrapped in cloths. Trevor sighs.
"I am not a big fan of this, but I think this might be really useful, for you. I hope you´ll use it wisely."
Sag nods and Trevor gives him the mysterious thing. The witch's eyes light up, as he unwrapps it and finds himself holding an axe, covered in magical symbols. "This is a weapon forged out of the strongest material, known to mankind. A mighty witch gave it to me, after she´s fought a great battle. She said, she never wants to see it again. Other than selling it, I have no use for it. I don´t like fighting and I don´t have any magical abilities, that I could feed it with. Give it to me for a second."
Trevor holds out his hands and Sag places the weapon within them.
"These symbols,"
he traces them, with his fingers, "All stand for a different ability, of the axe. For me, they are not usable, but if you let your magic, mana, or whatever you wanna call it, flow inside the weapon, you can activate them. The stronger and the more magic you use, the stronger the axe gets." He gives it back to the little witch. Sag still stares at it in awe, while the man walks past him, taking the giant bags with him. "And this is for you."
Trevor stands in front of the beast, hoping he will let him put the bags on him. Rufus just stares at him, not exactly understanding, what is going on. "Uhm.."
"Need help?"
"Yeah.."
The witch takes the bags and carefully straps them on the creature. To both, Sag´s and Trevor´s, surprise, Rufus isn´t fighting it.
"There is also a saddle to-"
"Nah, don´t worry about that. I don´t think Rufus necessarily wants that and I don´t want him to feel uncomfortable."
"If you say so."
Sag takes out his older weapon, made out of iron and holds it up to the man.
"Can I sell you this, for a new scarf?"
"You don´t need to sell me something. I would´ve just given you one."
Trevor answers, a little startled. "Yeah, but you´ve already given us lots."
"Okay."
Trevor takes the sword, of Sag, and brings him a new and thicker scarf.
"Here."
"Thanks."
The witch puts it on and packs all their new belongings, except for the new weapon, into Rufus´ bags.
"So, where will you go now?"
"No idea yet."
"Is there any reason why you´re traveling around?"
Silence. Sag looks to the ground, thinking of how to answer that. "I..I needed a break from..'home'. And I am searching for something."
"What are you searching for?" "..Don´t get me wrong, but I´d rather not talk about it."
Trevor nods and lets the topic go. "Well, I wish you safe travels then... And maybe, visit someday."
The witch smiles,
"Sure. But I won´t carry your things again."
They both chuckle.
