★★★ Fourth POV ★★★
I froze.
Blood was pounding in my ears, and I looked at the objects in the box and couldn't believe my eyes.
What the hell?!
Exactly, the hell. A very good association, fitting for the situation.
With my silence and lack of movement, I must have scared my cousin. He entered the room, still leaving wet traces everywhere. He leaned over me and looked inside over my shoulder.
“WHAT IS THAT?!” He screamed so loudly that I thought my eardrums would burst.
“Good question, P'First. I don't know”.
“It's not yours, is it?” He looked at me suspiciously. I elbowed him in the knee.
“If it was mine, then...” I didn't finish the sentence. P'First took the stele out of the pocket of his soaked trousers and drew a rune in the air next to the cardboard, which I recognized as the one that was supposed to reveal a potential threat. I had the same one on my body and it was the first rune I had received – Norawit's idea.
Nothing happened. The rune flashed for a moment, then disappeared.
“Safe. It looks like they might be fakes or haven't been used yet. Let's take them out. I want to take a picture of them”.
“Are you sure this is a good idea, P'?”
“The best! Don't delay, we don't know when your husband will be back, I need to know just in case he'd doing something bad behind your back”.
At that moment I thought I heard a squeak, like a mouse squeaking in my room, but when I looked around I saw nothing out of the ordinary. Well, maybe nothing except that devil box.
“What husband?” I gave my cousin the middle finger, feeling embarrassed. We quickly took out more items on the floor, and First took pictures of them. I wondered what Norawit could possibly need all this for. Surely not to perform a ‘black mass’ right? Please, tell me he doesn't need this for...?
My imagination gave me a vision of Gem as the leader in what looked like a Satanic ritual. My sister Tu always told me that I read too many books and had too much imagination. That's probably why I also saw some masked people standing around Gemini, dressed in black cloaks that reached almost to the ground, and that they were all in the grounds of some very old, probably medieval castle or its ruins. The thought alone gave me goosebumps.
The idea came to both of us after seeing silver pentagrams, black crosses placed upside down on a garment that resembled a Catholic priest's robe, and a vial of something that resembled blood that was a bit too thick.
“Shit, your husband's a Satanist,” First said jokingly, but I could see that each successive item disgusted him more and more.
“Do you have pictures?”
