★★★ Chokun POV ★★★
Our friend Fourth was finally discharged from our institute hospital by doctors WanDee and Jimmy, and we were eagerly awaiting this moment. In the sickroom where Fourth was lying, we didn't want to talk too much about what we already knew. I was sure that Gemini had stopped trusting anyone and I was afraid that he wouldn't trust us either. And yet we didn't want to hurt them, any of them, even if Gemini was an arrogant idiot, a self-absorbed prince.
To our great surprise, Fourth was visited by Prim. It was adorable how such a seemingly petite and slim, tiny woman can have so much strength of character. It was my turn to watch over our friend when she appeared. She greeted us politely. Prim had something of an introvert in her, but with Gemini she was always much bolder and louder, she laughed more often with him than with others, and perhaps only Becca could make Prim, usually a quiet and calm, diligent student (though not a nerd), turn into the life of the party. I only saw her talk to Fourth once, usually she sat with June or Rebecca. Sometimes our senior, P'Ciize, accompanied by P'Love (P'Love and P'Ciize were sisters, they often spent time together) would take her to class. We laughed to each other that it was their girl gang of pretty girls. That's why her visit to Fourth shocked me so much. Prim was the last person I could have expected. When she came in, I got up from the chair I was sitting on next to Fourth's bed (we played magic chess, brilliant, I managed to beat Fourth once). Prim, however, put her hand on my shoulder and said quietly:
“Stay, Chokun. Fourth is your friend, I doubt he keeps any secrets from you.”
I thought that Prim was very wrong, Fourth wasn’t that close to me and he certainly hid a lot of his secrets from me, which maybe no one had the right to know, but I smiled gratefully, nodded to her, but I still didn’t deny myself the pleasure of at least giving her another chair so she could sit next to Fourth.
“Thanks for coming, Prim. Actually, it’s probably a good thing.”
“Oh, sweetie, do you miss me already?” She laughed sweetly, and I couldn’t take my eyes off Fourth. His eyes were twinkling with some strange light I hadn’t seen before. Prim seemed to understand this before me.
“Of course! How could I forget my wonderful student?!” Fourth replied just as cheerfully. And I sat there like an idiot, not knowing what to do with myself. I felt awkward. Maybe I should leave?
But I felt stupid leaving when Prim wanted me to stay. I looked around for an excuse to leave. Unfortunately, Prim must have sensed it, because she grabbed my forearm and squeezed it, stopping me in my tracks as I was getting up to leave under the pretext of having to practice for my dance class with Professor Zee. I think Prim was afraid of something. Maybe she knew something she shouldn’t? Maybe she had some problems? But why did she need me to be there during her conversation with Fourth?
So I stayed and waited to see what would happen next.
“Thanks Fourth. I just found out what happened. You’re not going to tell me that the rumors are true?”
Fourth blushed slightly and began to play with one of the chess pieces, tossing it from hand to hand. He wasn’t looking at Prim, he was staring at the piece. And she covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes widening in complete and utter astonishment.
“NO?!” She screamed in disbelief. “YOU’RE NOT SERIOUS! No! Seriously?! You… You’re a hybrid?! But… No…! How is that possible? That means… That what? That means you’re pregnant too?!” She said the last question much more quietly, almost in a whisper, leaning towards Fourth.
“What do you mean ‘you’re pregnant too’?” Now I had to butt in. Something suddenly stopped liking all this.
Prim put her hand on her belly (she had always been skinny and tiny, but I hadn't noticed any major change) and said in a voice in which I could clearly hear pride and joy.
