IT HAD BEEN THREE DAYS since their kiss, and despite how fast things were moving, it still felt right.
jaxon and sabrina had barely left each other's sides since that morning. they were spending every spare moment together—whether they were in the studio or wrapped up in lazy mornings at sabrina's apartment, everything felt... easy. natural.
but tonight was different. tonight, they were back in the studio with the band. and the air between them was thick with tension—the kind of tension that made every shared glance, every accidental touch, feel electric.
"okay, guys," ross said, setting down his bass and stretching his arms over his head. "i think we've earned a break."
"thank god," jack muttered, slumping back on the couch. "i need a snack."
sabrina laughed, watching as the guys headed for the snack bar at the back of the studio. but her smile faltered when she noticed jaxon watching her from across the room, his eyes dark and intense.
her pulse quickened. the band being here was making things more complicated—every time they were around, she and jaxon had to hold back. they couldn't kiss, couldn't touch, couldn't do any of the things they'd been doing every chance they got over the past few days.
but the tension between them was building, and it was becoming harder to ignore.
jaxon stood up, stretching casually before walking over to where sabrina was sitting. he leaned against the wall, his body close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from him.
"you okay?" jaxon asked, his voice low.
sabrina smiled, but there was something in her chest that felt tight. "yeah. just... it's weird. being around everyone again. trying to pretend like nothing's different."
jaxon's eyes softened, and he reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. the touch was quick, but it sent a spark of electricity racing through her.
"i know," jaxon said softly. "but we can't keep it a secret forever."
sabrina's heart skipped a beat at the weight of his words. she knew he was right. but there was still a part of her that was scared—scared of what would happen when the world found out about them. scared of what it would do to their careers, to their friendship, to everything they'd built.
"i just... i don't want anything to ruin this," sabrina whispered, her voice shaky.
jaxon's expression softened, and he leaned in slightly, his voice barely audible. "nothing's going to ruin this, sab."
they were close now—too close for comfort, especially with the guys just a few feet away. but sabrina couldn't help it. she leaned in too, her breath hitching as their eyes locked, the tension between them thick and suffocating.
"jaxon..." sabrina started, her voice a whisper.
but before she could finish, ross called out from across the room. "yo, jaxon, you wanna come grab a bite?"
