THE DAYS FOLLOWING their last conversation had been torture for jaxon. the silence from sabrina was deafening, and no matter how many times he told himself to give her space, to let her figure things out, it was killing him.

he had tried to keep himself busy, throwing himself into the band's work, rehearsals, even late-night jam sessions with the guys. but nothing was enough to drown out the gnawing fear in the back of his mind—that sabrina wasn't coming back. that she had already made up her mind and just didn't have the heart to tell him.

sitting in the studio one night, his guitar resting idly in his lap, jaxon stared down at his phone. the last message he had sent her was still unread. it had been days.

"yo, you good?" ross asked, glancing up from the soundboard.

jaxon blinked, snapping out of his daze. "yeah," he muttered, his voice rough. "i'm fine."

but he wasn't fine. not even close.

"you're not," jack chimed in from across the room. "you've been off for days, man."

"it's sabrina, isn't it?" dylan asked, setting his guitar down as he leaned back on the couch. "shit's getting complicated?"

jaxon let out a long sigh, rubbing his hands over his face. "complicated doesn't even begin to cover it."

ross raised an eyebrow. "what's going on? you guys seemed solid."

"we were," jaxon said, his voice hollow. "but now... i don't even know. she's pulling away, and i'm losing her. i can feel it."

there was a heavy silence in the room as the guys exchanged looks, not knowing how to fix the mess jaxon had found himself in.

"so what are you going to do?" jack asked finally, his voice low.

jaxon stared down at his phone, his chest tight. "i don't know. i've tried everything. she says she needs space, but how much space am i supposed to give her before it's too much?"

dylan nodded, his expression serious. "sometimes, man, you have to make the call. if she's not giving you anything to hold onto..."

jaxon's chest tightened at the thought. the idea of walking away from sabrina, of letting her slip through his fingers, was unbearable. but at the same time, the waiting, the uncertainty—it was tearing him apart.

"maybe it's time to push back," ross said quietly. "ask her to make a choice."

jaxon's jaw clenched. he didn't want to give her an ultimatum, didn't want to force her into anything. but maybe ross was right. maybe he couldn't keep hanging on without knowing where they stood.

with a deep breath, jaxon stood up, grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair. "i need to see her."

the guys didn't say anything, but the look on their faces said enough—they knew this was it. jaxon was either going to fight for her, or he was going to walk away.
