sabrina's stomach twisted as she read the article, her heart sinking as lily's name popped up again. it wasn't even an actual interview—it was just a quote taken out of context. but that didn't matter. the media had already latched onto it, spinning it into a new wave of rumors about her, jaxon, and lily.

her phone buzzed again, and this time, it was jaxon.

sabrina's heart skipped a beat. the tone of his message was different—he wasn't his usual, playful self. something was wrong. he was asking her to talk and so she told him to come over.

she set her phone down, her mind spinning with all the possibilities of what he wanted to talk about. she knew things had been getting harder—the media attention, the pressure from their teams, the constant scrutiny from fans. but they had promised each other they would get through it. they had promised to stay strong.

but what if jaxon was starting to doubt that promise?

there was a knock on the door, and sabrina's heart raced as she opened it. jaxon stood there, looking more stressed than she had ever seen him. his hair was a mess, and there were dark circles under his eyes.

"hey," sabrina said softly, stepping aside to let him in. "you okay?"

jaxon ran a hand through his hair, letting out a long breath as he sat down on the couch. "i don't know, sab. everything's... everything's a mess."

sabrina sat down beside him, her chest tightening. "what's going on?"

jaxon sighed, his eyes dark as he looked at her. "the media's not letting up. my label's starting to get worried. they think the rumors are going to hurt the band, hurt the new album."

sabrina's heart sank. she knew how much the band meant to jaxon, how much pressure he was under to keep their career on track. but hearing it laid out like this made everything feel more real. more urgent.

"what are they saying?" sabrina asked quietly.

jaxon hesitated for a moment, his jaw clenched. "they think... they think we should cool it for a while. lay low. let the rumors die down."
