Chapter 17 - The Eternal Inferno

The Diamond Pavilion was a luxurious venue, a hexagonal building illuminated at night with strategically placed LED lights that projected bright beams, making it resemble a diamond glimmering in the sunlight.

Engfa, Charlotte, Orm, Yoko, Nudee, and Faye walked into the venue. A giant crystal chandelier welcomed them as the security team checked their bags; no weapons were allowed inside this place.

Once the security check was done, they entered the main hall where the VVIP guests were already mingling.

Engfa's gaze landed on Leon Montoya, who was chatting with some guests near the stage. Their eyes met briefly, and Leon seemed to silently warn Engfa with his eyes.

Engfa turned to Orm and gave a subtle nod, which Orm immediately understood. Dressed in a stunning gown topped with a luxurious fur coat worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. She looked exactly like a model straight out of a photoshoot.

Orm walked over to one of the servers and asked where the ladies' restroom was.

Meanwhile, Nudee and Yoko stayed close to Engfa and Charlotte. Faye glanced at Engfa and spoke quietly into her micro earpiece, "Everyone, get ready. Phoenix, Flame, check status."

Apo and Mew quickly replied, "Waiting for orders."

Engfa heard everything through her micro earpiece but didn't respond or give any commands. Instead, she grabbed a drink from a passing server, her eyes still fixed on Leon.

Turning to Charlotte she said, "I'll chat with Leon. Enjoy the event, my love." She flashed Charlotte her best smile. Charlotte nodded back with a smile of her own.

Nudee and Yoko then engaged Charlotte in conversation while Engfa shot a quick look at Faye before striding toward Leon.

Noticing Engfa approach, Leon excused himself from the group he was talking to. They shook hands, and he said, "Miss Waraha, thank you for coming to this event. I didn't think you would fulfill my invitation."

Engfa smiled back. "I couldn't miss the launch of the century, could I?" Her gaze shifted to the showcase displaying The Eternal Inferno on stage. "What a masterpiece," she added, slowly sipping her drink.

Leon squinted at Engfa, who was fixated on the diamond. "Indeed. Your Lady of Thorn is extraordinary, but let me tell you, this one has no comparison."

Engfa nodded. "I had no idea Montoya Diamonds could pull off something like this."

Leon chuckled, "You think we're just playing games?"

Engfa shook her head. "Not at all. But considering how you managed 'small-time' antics in Bangkok, it makes me a little skeptical about Montoya Diamonds as a whole."

Leon paused for a moment, slightly taken aback, before regaining his arrogant demeanor and smirking at Engfa.

"Let me tell you, Engfa, sometimes people can 'slip' when they least expect it."

Engfa gazed at The Eternal Inferno for a few seconds, her fingers subtly brushing the diamond ring on her right hand that was holding her drink.

Suddenly, her micro earpiece crackled to life. "Signal received. Execute now, Unikorn." Snack's voice came through clearly.

Engfa took another sip of her drink. "This diamond is incredible. It would be quite profitable to have it," she said, glancing at Leon.

Leon tensed up, then composed himself and leaned in closer to Engfa. "I'll know if anything goes down tonight. You won't be able to pull anything off, Voss. Let me just say, there won't be any of your moves that I won't predict." His voice dripped with venom.
