Bangkok, Thailand
A week later.
Engfa sat in her sleek, modern meeting room, facing representatives from VV Empire-and Victoria Varee herself. The final negotiation for their alliance was underway.
VV Empire had sweetened the deal, offering lucrative royalty payments to break Warasorn Diamonds' long-standing contract with their current supplier.
The sum was staggering, but that wasn't what held Engfa's attention.
Before the meeting, Aoom had quietly warned her about some unsettling details in VV Empire's final proposal. It wasn't just the numbers; Victoria seemed a bit too eager, as if she was prepared to go to any length to secure this alliance.
But Engfa's mind was already made up, long before they even sat down. She had weighed every angle, every consequence.
When it came to the deal with VV Empire, despite the synchronized understanding shared among every core member of the Warasorn team, Engfa, as the company's president, still had her own thoughts on how to leverage the alliance to her advantage.
She knew that backing out or rejecting the partnership with Victoria was not an option. She had seen firsthand how relentless Victoria was in covering every angle, leaving Engfa with little room to refuse as a businesswoman. There was almost no reason to turn her down-except for one nagging concern: Victoria's involvement with Consillium Ignis and Jeff Satur.
Even so, for Engfa, the spotless reputation of VV Empire remained a mystery. If Victoria was indeed connected, as Engfa suspected, with such a shadowy organization, why was her business record so clean?
Engfa still hadn't uncovered the center of the game Victoria was playing. Something didn't quite add up.
"So, what's your decision, Miss Waraha?" asked Mr. Sinclair, the Vice President of VV Empire, breaking the silence.
All eyes shifted to Engfa. Victoria, seated across from her, crossed her legs elegantly, her gaze sharp and calculating. She leaned back, exuding confidence, but Engfa wasn't intimidated.
Engfa leaned forward, her fingers lightly grazing the contract in front of her. She didn't hesitate as she signed the document with a flourish and passed it to Aoom for legal processing.
"Thank you, VV Empire, for this opportunity," Engfa said, her voice steady, calm. "Let's take this new alliance forward toward limitless success."
VV Empire's team broke into satisfied smiles, while the Warasorn Diamonds team exchanged polite nods. Engfa remained composed, but her mind was far from settled.
She leaned toward Faye, who was sitting close by. "After they leave, I need a private word with Victoria," she whispered.
Faye nodded in silent acknowledgment.
As the meeting wrapped up, Mr. Sinclair and the VV Empire team discussed a few last-minute details with Warasorn's legal team. Meanwhile, Engfa and Victoria exchanged silent, intense glances across the room.
There was something unsaid between them-something that hung heavy in the air, waiting to explode.
When the room cleared, Victoria didn't move, still lounging in her seat as if she had all the time in the world. Engfa didn't budge either. She knew this moment had been coming since the first time they'd crossed paths.
The game was about to begin.
"Victoria," Engfa finally broke the silence, her voice low but firm.
Victoria smirked, her eyes gleaming. "I knew you had something to say."
