Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow across Charlotte's back as she slept with her head resting on her arms at the workspace suite. Her laptop was still on, displaying the last few lines of the article she had been working on. Slowly, she lifted her head, eyes still half-closed, and stretched her body, realizing she had dozed off at some point while writing the Volkov article. She rubbed her stiff neck, glancing around to get her bearings before spotting her phone on the desk: 8:00 AM.
Rising to her feet, Charlotte made her way to the bedroom, only to freeze in confusion when she didn't see Engfa anywhere.
Her thoughts raced-had Engfa already left for work? What time did she come back last night, and why hadn't she woken her up?
After freshening up a bit in the bathroom, Charlotte stepped out of the suite just as she bumped into Patcha and Snack in the hallway.
"Hey, P'Char!" Snack greeted her with a big grin.
"Where are you two headed?" Charlotte asked.
"Breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Wanna come?" Patcha offered. "Come on."
Charlotte nodded, "Sure."
As they walked down the corridor, they passed by Nudee's room, and she popped her head out. "Hey! You guys going for breakfast?" she asked, grinning widely. The three of them nodded, and she quickly joined in, "I'm coming too!"
The four made their way to the elevator and headed down to the restaurant.
Once seated, Charlotte couldn't help but glance around before turning to Patcha. "Do you know where P'Fa is?"
Patcha shook her head, "No, I haven't seen her. Wasn't she at the suite?"
Snack chimed in, "She didn't come back last night?"
Charlotte frowned, "I don't know. I fell asleep at the workspace, and when I woke up, she still wasn't there. I thought maybe she went straight to the office."
Patcha and Snack exchanged a look before glancing at Nudee, who was quietly focused on her food. Snack nudged Nudee's foot under the table.
"Huh?" Nudee looked up, confused. Charlotte watched them with furrowed brows.
"Does P'Fa have to be at the office this early? You'd know her schedule, right?" Snack asked.
Nudee scrolled through her phone as she chewed. "Nope, her first meeting's not until 1 PM with the venue organizers. Why? What's up?" She glanced at Snack, then at Charlotte.
Charlotte's gaze drifted back to her plate. There was no reason for Engfa to leave for the office this early if her day didn't start until the afternoon. She let out a long sigh, her appetite fading as she poked at her meal.
Patcha noticed Charlotte's unease and set down her bread. "Charlotte..."
Charlotte looked up, her worry evident.
"If you're really that concerned, I can help you figure out where she is," Patcha said, offering a reassuring smile. She pulled out her phone and quickly began typing. As heads of Warasorn's cybersecurity elite team, only she and Snack had access to the GPS tracker for all the elite members-a crucial security measure.
A moment later, Patcha's eyebrow arched in surprise. "Uh... she's in here? in the hotel."
"What?" Charlotte set down her spoon, her brows furrowing even more. "But she wasn't in the suite."
The trio exchanged glances.
