Four Weeks Later
Victoria strode into a lavish mansion, its security tighter than a fortress. The guards stood frozen as she passed through the grand front doors, powerless to do anything but nod in submission.
As she made her way down the corridor, old photographs lined the walls, whispering tales of the past. She reached a massive door on the second floor and pushed it open, revealing a scene that immediately shifted the atmosphere.
The room fell silent as everyone around the imposing table turned to her, stunned by her unexpected arrival.
Jeff Satur gulped audibly, cold sweat trickling down his forehead.
Leon Montoya, arms crossed on the table, locked eyes with her, his gaze sharp and calculating.
"Victoria! What a surprise..." Marcus exclaimed, a grin stretching across his face.
Anastasia raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk playing on her lips, as if she relished the drama unfolding.
The other council members exchanged anxious glances, whispers floating through the air like smoke.
But Victoria's icy gaze was fixed on Leon, radiating intensity.
"Victoria..." Leon stood, but before he could say another word, Victoria swiftly drew a knife hidden up her suit sleeve and hurled it past his ear, the blade grazing his earlobe before burying itself into the wall behind him. He froze, a tremor coursing through him as blood began to trickle down his neck, staining his expensive suit.
The room was engulfed in a suffocating silence; no one dared to breathe. Jeff Satur felt his heart race, the cold sweat now pouring down his back.
Victoria's attention shifted to Jeff, her voice dripping with contempt. "Your foolishness knows no bounds, Satur. This time, it's utterly absurd, and you..." Her gaze turned to Leon, sharp as the knife she had just thrown. "As chairman of the High Council, you've joined him in this idiocy. Both of you have dragged Consillium Ignis through the mud with your petty, devious games."
She scanned the room, locking eyes with each council member. "You've all sacrificed your dignity under the leadership of such a fool."
Confusion and fear rippled through the members, but they knew Victoria was building toward something. They could only watch, tense and on edge.
"This is your final warning, Leon. If you dare disrupt the order I'm trying to establish, just remember: that knife won't miss next time." Her words cut through the air like the blade itself, and Leon remained frozen, his expression a mask of shock.
With a cold, triumphant smirk, Victoria turned and strode out of the room, her guards trailing closely behind.
As the door swung shut, the council members turned to Leon, who slowly sank back into his chair, the weight of their gazes feeling like a thousand bullets aimed at him. He exhaled deeply, the tension coiling tighter around him, knowing he was standing on the precipice of disaster.
