Bangkok, Thailand

Engfa had decided it was time to return to Bangkok now that things in Belgium seemed settled, at least for now.

Yesterday, she and the entire team flew back on a jet, which had just arrived in Antwerp after a quick trip to drop off Troy in South Africa.

Charlotte- couldn't stop wondering what it would be like when they landed back in Bangkok.

Would they still keep their distance? Would one of them move out of the master bedroom?

After all, they were supposed to go back to the mansion and share the same room. She figured she'd bring it up later, but the uncertainty gnawed at her.

She let out a sigh, feeling the weight of how complicated things could get if they stayed in this limbo. She was at the edge of the cliff, ready to plunge if Engfa still insisted they needed more time apart. Enough was enough.

She missed Engfa so much that words just couldn't capture it anymore. Even though they kept talking, being separated by different beds and suites, even on the same floor, was torture. Knowing the person she loved was only a few meters away but out of reach, unable to hold or touch, made every night agonizingly frustrating.

The team held a meeting while they were still in the air, discussing the next steps. Faye and Engfa had dubbed the plan "Cleanup," which included something called Quiet Days.

The Quiet Days were Engfa's way of calming the stormy seas following the Antwerp incident and the showdown with Leon at The Majestic 2 launch. It was also a strategy to throw off their enemies's guesses about their next move. For the next two weeks, they would stick to their usual routines, with no flashy maneuvers.

Engfa even told the elite team, "Take a vacation if you want." That was her message. Everything would ramp up again in the third week, just as she had predicted.

When they finally arrived at the mansion last night, Engfa didn't head to the master bedroom, which made Charlotte wonder if she still wanted some space. Engfa spent most of the night in her office, staying up late.

But when Charlotte woke up, she realized that at some point, Engfa had returned to their room while she was deeply asleep. With a bed that massive, it was easy not to notice if Engfa had slept on the edge or somewhere else. She saw Engfa sitting on the bed, rubbing her eyes sleepily before heading out probably to the gym, as it was always her routine, thought Charlotte.

At least it was a relief that Engfa had chosen to stay in the same room. But when Charlotte glanced at her phone and saw the date, a sigh of defeat escaped her lips.

Today marked their two-year anniversary, and knowing Engfa, she had likely forgotten once again, just like last year.

Charlotte swung her legs over the side of the bed and let out a quiet sigh. She didn't want to add another burden to Engfa. Normally, she would scold her and sulk in frustration if this were any other situation. But this time wasn't right.

You're so lucky, Engfa Waraha, she thought, shaking her head at the irony of it all.

"Alright, just a sec..." Heidi said, pausing in her office chair with her laptop open. She tapped a few keys, then nodded to herself and leaned back. "Okay, so this is the full article, right? I'll give it a once-over first, Char."

Across from her, Charlotte nodded, a small smile on her face. "We've still got two weeks, plenty of time. I need it published in the third week."

Heidi stood up, making her way over to her desk, where she leaned casually, crossing her arms. "Alright, sounds like a plan. I'm fine with the timeline; I'll get in touch with the head of publishing soon."
