POV CHARLOTTE

Here I am again, back on the jet, heading to Bangkok after three intense days on Vincerò Island.

I can't seem to take my eyes off P'Fa. We've been flying for six hours, and since that heated team meeting, there's been radio silence-no more meetings, no changes to the plan. It's locked in. Execution is set.

It's not that I don't trust the plan.

I know she's put a lot of thought into it, and honestly, that's why she invited that person to the island. She's taking a huge gamble here, a bold move that only P'Faye and my girlfriend seem to fully understand. The rest of us are left guessing, even after we argued hard about it. But no matter how heated things got, P'Faye and P'Fa were like stone-unshakeable, answering every question with a calm confidence that almost made you feel stupid for asking.

I have to admit, they're brilliant, covering every angle. P'Fa didn't even blink before deciding to use her private island as our meeting point. It's like her mind runs on a different frequency, one I can barely keep up with.

So, for the past six hours, I've been watching her. She's sitting next to P'Faye, their heads bent over their laptops, trading ideas and refining strategies. It's making me restless.

Since the moment this plan hit the table, she's been drifting further away. Not in a bad way, though-I know it's not about us. There's nothing wrong with our relationship; she's just locked into this mode of hyper-focus. She still checks in with me, asking for my input, and I make sure to give my best advice. She even gave me a mission, and according to her, it's the toughest one aside from hers.

I can't let myself get caught up in my own feelings right now; she's right. We need all hands on deck for this.

It's not just a game anymore-it's life or death.

"You should probably ditch those sunglasses, Char. At this point, we all know exactly where your eyes have been for the past few hours," P'Ling said as she approached and sat down across from me.

I felt like I'd been caught red-handed.

Since we left the island, I hadn't taken off my sunglasses once-not during the domestic flight, not while boarding the jet. A part of me was using them to hide my tired eyes from lack of sleep, but another part was so I wouldn't be too obvious about watching my girlfriend across the cabin, completely engrossed in her laptop.

Honestly, I was running on fumes; I'd managed maybe two hours of sleep last night. I kept waiting for P'Fa to join me in bed, but she stayed up with P'Faye, the two of them locked in strategy talks until dawn.

That's why I said I was restless-because I literally was.

When this is all over, she's definitely going to owe me a real vacation, just the two of us, away from all of this. I'm talking private beach, endless fun-no missions, no interruptions.

"No. I'm going to grab a few hours of sleep in the back, P'Ling. Two hours of shut-eye last night didn't exactly do the trick," I replied.

P'Ling flashed a knowing smile, glancing back toward P'Fa and P'Faye before looking at me again.

"You'll get used to it. We all did. Vincerò isn't just some random getaway-it's where Engfa and P'Faye set the stage for their most critical missions."

I raised an eyebrow. "How often does that happen?"

She shook her head. "Not that often, really. A handful of times. The one that I remembered was before our trip to Italy to track down Ignatio. Same island, same situation." She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Only when the stakes are sky-high."
