Thong Lor, officially named Soi Sukhumvit 55 is a road and neighbourhood in Watthana District, Bangkok Thailand.

The street itself is already a witness of multiple historical events. From the Siamese revolution of 1932, Multiple coup against the Government, Gay march in Thailand.. You named it. The infamous street has been witness to it all. But regardless of what is mentioned, Thong Lor is also a faithful spectator of the daily mundane life of multiple people, of folks striving to make a living. An observer of multiple spectrums of emotion ranging from Happiness and sadness. If the place could only provide a testimony of it all, it will start with a little Japanese Omakase restaurant around the corner alley of this long and winding road.

“Is it lopsided, Somchai?” Xian Kwong, a 17 year old teenager with his lanky frame but handsome face asked his cousin as he stepped back and criticized his work of the banner that is visible right away as soon as you enter the rented room at the 2nd floor of the restaurant. The two of them only have a two years old gap so they grow up almost together and treat each other as siblings.

“Hmm..” His 15 years old cousin, Somchai also stood at his side, both fingers playing on his chin as if thinking deeply. “It’s not, Jie. We have already arranged it for the third time and I think it's already the best.”

At the bottom of the banner were pictures of a happy family of three. Xian saw his baby pictures there first. His newborn chubby cheeks pressed against the beautiful face of his mom Lingling whose teary eyes and his visibly exhausted Mae Orm that ‘s still lying on the delivery bed, It’s their first family picture. There’s also pictures of his milestones and when you have mothers whose passion for photography is top notch, it is expected to have a ton of it as shown in the display.

His first walk, His first haircut where again, his mom Ling was crying at the background as her Mae told him multiple of times that his mom, whose fond of calling him her Xiao Long Bao, wanted it long so she could braid it like those ancient Chinese but well, there a little incident of lice break out that shattered Ling’s dream. Their first family outing in Koh Samui where he could barely walk, anything and everything regarding him was captured and treasured. His toddler picture along with Uni and Char Siu, his moms beloved dogs.

Despite the fame of both of his mothers, he was raised in a relatively normal setting like any other normal kid, playing sports, enjoying video games and eating various dishes like his adventurous foodie  mom is. He is a kid blessed with two loving mothers and raised in a home full of love and laughter and don't make him start with affection because he, who witnessed all of it, still can't get used to how her Mae Orm would always cling to her Mommy every chance she could get. Nevermind the amount where he finds them slightly pecking each other's faces like chicken feeding on worms.
Nevermind how his mom would always recite her oath to Mae Orm every morning that he felt the words were already etched on his brain. What was it again?

I love you like the salty water loves the shore. Through the calm, through the storm, through it all- forever sure.

And her Mae Orm would giggle like a school girl in front of her crush and would never fail to blush profusely.

“You think so?” Xian asked, his voice may sound neutral but his cousin already knew him so well to detect the doubts in his voice.
