[Jay's POV]
Watching her was like witnessing a storm. One moment, she was fierce and defiant; the next, a flicker of fear crossed her face. I enjoyed it-too much, perhaps.
When the men approached, I signaled them to keep their distance. "This is a private meeting," I said, my tone brokering no argument.
"Private?" One of them sneered, eyes darting to the girl beside me. "She's just a kid."
I narrowed my eyes. "She's not just a kid. She's important to me."
The group exchanged looks, but I could feel their hesitation. The Park clan had earned respect through fear, and now I was using that reputation to shield her.
"You want to play protector? She's in over her head, Jay," another man warned.
"Let's see if she can handle the truth." I turned to her, leaning closer. "Your father's debts won't just disappear. You're going to have to make a choice."
"What choice?" she asked, her voice steady, but I could see the crack in her facade.
I smirked, enjoying the power dynamics at play. "Join our family, help us in our operations. We can protect your father-and you."
Her eyes widened, indignation flaring. "You think I'd join you? You're part of the problem!"
I shrugged, a playful grin on my lips. "That's the beauty of it. You either join or watch your family crumble."
Her silence spoke volumes. I could see the conflict in her eyes, torn between her loyalty to her father and the dark allure of my offer.
"I'll give you time to think," I said, rising from my seat. "But the clock is ticking."
As I walked away, I couldn't shake the feeling that this girl was going to be more trouble than I anticipated-and I was more intrigued than I should be.
