The Bake Sale Disaster

The next weekend, we set up a makeshift table in the park, armed with cookies, brownies, and a dubious collection of pastries. I'd taken the lead on baking, making a mountain of goodies that I was sure would win over the community.

"Remember, we want to seem approachable," Jay instructed, standing next to me in a ridiculously oversized apron that read Kiss the Cook. I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Really? That's the best you could find?" I teased, unable to contain my amusement.

"Shut up," he mumbled, a blush creeping up his cheeks.

As people started to gather, things took a turn for the chaotic. One kid grabbed a handful of cookies and attempted to run off. Jake sprinted after him, yelling, "Not so fast, kid!"

"Look at him go!" I laughed, pointing as Jake stumbled and fell into a bush.

Meanwhile, Sunghoon was trying to get the attention of a local news crew, waving his arms wildly. "Hey! We're the mafia with a heart! Come get your cookies!"

The news crew stared, clearly unsure how to react. "We're just here for the charity event," one of them said, backing away slowly.

"Right! Charity! It's for a good cause!" Sunghoon shouted, but it only made things worse.

"Someone get him a cookie before he scares off the press," I called out.

Just then, Heeseung dropped a tray of brownies, sending them flying everywhere. "Whoops!" he exclaimed, and we all burst into laughter as people dodged the flying desserts.
