[Jay's POV]
Days turned into weeks, and the tension between us shifted. I found myself looking forward to her presence, her laughter cutting through the darkness of our world.
During one of our training sessions, I noticed how she had begun to adapt, her confidence growing. She wasn't the same girl who had walked into that café weeks ago; she was becoming a formidable ally.
"Keep your stance wide," I instructed, demonstrating a defensive move. "You need to be able to absorb the impact."
She nodded, determination shining in her eyes as she tried to mimic my movements. "Like this?"
"Exactly," I said, stepping back to watch her practice.
As she worked through the motions, I couldn't help but admire her tenacity. But there was something more than just admiration; I was beginning to feel a connection that I hadn't anticipated.
"Why do you keep pushing me?" she asked, pausing to catch her breath.
"Because I see potential in you," I replied honestly. "You have the spirit of a fighter."
She smiled, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. "Thanks, I guess."
But I wasn't done. "And I need you to be strong. The Park clan is always under threat. You can't let fear hold you back."
Her expression shifted, the fire in her eyes dimming for a moment. "It's hard not to be scared when every day feels like a battle."
I stepped closer, my voice softening. "I get it. But you're not alone in this. I'll always have your back."
Her gaze met mine, and for a moment, the world around us faded. I saw something shift in her expression—trust, perhaps? Or something deeper?
Before I could ponder it further, Sunghoon interrupted, breaking the tension. "What's going on over here?"
"Just training," I replied, forcing a casual tone.
"Training or flirting?" he teased, a mischievous grin on his face.
I shot him a warning glare, and he raised his hands in mock surrender. But I could see the doubt in his eyes.
As the session continued, I couldn't shake the feeling that something significant was happening between us. This bond we were forming felt like a dangerous game, one I wasn't sure I was ready to play.
