[Jay's POV]
It was amusing to see her step into this world. The look of defiance she wore was admirable.
After accepting her into the Park clan, I took it upon myself to show her the ropes. The first task was simple—run an errand.
"Stay close," I instructed as we walked through the bustling streets. "And keep your head down. This isn't just any errand; it's a message."
As we reached our destination, I watched her absorb the chaos around us. She was nervous but tried to play it cool.
"Are you ready?" I asked, noticing her apprehension.
"I didn't sign up for violence," she replied, crossing her arms.
"Not all of it is violent," I said, suppressing a chuckle. "Sometimes it's about intimidation."
"Great, just what I wanted," she said sarcastically.
I smirked. "You'll get used to it. Just remember, they'll be watching us."
The moment we entered the building, I felt her tension rise. I introduced her to a few members, and the looks they exchanged were laced with skepticism. They didn't trust her yet, and I knew it.
"Why did you bring her?" one of the guys asked, suspicion clear in his voice.
"Because she's part of the family now," I shot back.
As the meeting unfolded, I noticed her stealing glances at me, curiosity mixed with concern. I could see the wheels turning in her mind, and it intrigued me.
"Are you paying attention?" I asked, breaking her focus.
She straightened up, fire in her eyes. "Of course. Just trying to figure out how I fit into this mess."
I admired her resilience. "You'll find your place. Just don't lose yourself in it."
As the meeting wrapped up, I noticed her expression soften, a hint of understanding dawning. Maybe this alliance wouldn't be so bad after all.
