Ethan ignored the advertisement and succumbed to exhaustion, but his sleep was fragmented, haunted by dreams that lingered long after he woke. At 9 am, he finally surrendered, yawning, with dark circles under his eyes. "Groaning," he swung his legs over the side of the bed, the sheet clinging to his sweat-drenched body.

He shuffled to the kitchen to brew a stimulating coffee, then stepped into the warm sunlight, seeking peace in his backyard. As he sipped his coffee, the natural beauty around him began to revive his spirits.

"Good morning, Judy," he said, dialing her number. "How's Emily?"

Judy's cheerful response lifted his mood. "She's happy, Doctor, missing you a lot!" Ethan's expression remained stoic, but his heart swelled with emotion.

After refreshing himself with a shower, Ethan headed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Emily's melancholy expression belied her impending release. "Mom, I feel safe here. I don't want to go home, see my dad's pictures..." Judy arrived, beaming, to prepare Emily for discharge.

"Today's the day you return home, sweetie. Doctor Ethan has arranged for a nurse to care for you. He truly cares about you." Emily nodded, her eyes downcast.

Ethan burst in, panting heavily. Judy's concern was palpable. "What happened, Doctor?"

Ethan reassured her with a smile. "Don't worry, Judy, I'm fine." The tension dissipated as everyone laughed, except Emily, who smiled faintly.

Ethan sat beside her, his voice filled with emotion. "Hey, girl, we hope you'll never face this again. We all love you. Have a healthy life. Mary will care for you, and I'm just a call away." The goodbye hung in the air like an unspoken promise.

Judy whispered to Mary, "He's never been this emotional about a patient." Mary's knowing glance sparked a suspicion. "He likes her, Judy. That's for sure."

Ethan rose, his eyes brimming with unshed tears. As he wiped them away, a stunned silence fell over the room. The hospital staff and Emily's family exchanged bewildered glances, unaccustomed to seeing the composed doctor so emotionally vulnerable.

Judy's voice barely above a whisper, "Doctor, are you okay?"

Ethan's gaze lingered on Emily, his expression a mixture of sadness and longing. He cleared his throat, regaining composure. "I'm fine, just...relieved she's going home."

He took a glance of Emily for the last time "I really care for you Emily" Emily smiled "thanks doctor" he swiftly left the room, his feet entered his cabin, with a sad sigh, his face turned to blue of thinking about Emily.

Tears streamed down from his face, "Emily, I will miss you so much, he said his voice cracking, suppressing his voice, "I care about you deeply, I've never felt this before"

(In taxi)

As the taxi navigated through the city streets, Emily's thoughts drifted to Ethan. His gentle smile, compassionate eyes, and heartfelt words replayed in her mind. Lost in thought, she didn't notice the passing scenery.

"Emily, we're home," Mary said softly.

When Emily didn't respond, Mary snapped her fingers. "Hey, what's wrong? You seemed lost in thought."

Emily blinked, returning to reality. "Just thinking," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mary's concerned expression softened. "About Doctor Ethan?" she asked gently.

Emily's cheeks flushed, and she looked away, her silence speaking volumes.

As they stepped inside, Mary's eyes widen "wow Emily, your room is really captivating"

Emily smiled "thanks Mary" Mary admired the pink furniture, pink colour of the room, "you love pink, don't you?"

Emily nodded, "yes"

Mary turned to her, grinning mischievously, "what's my room? Where ill be staying? Outside hahaha just kidding"

Emily led Mary to her room, Mary eyes widen "wow, gorgeous, your house is really beautiful Emily, better than mine" Emily laughed "oh no, thanks Mary"

Emily reminded her "Mary let's go, food Is ready" Mary grinningly said "LETS GOOO, I AM ALREADY STARVING"

(In the kitchen)

The furniture was exquisitely crafted. mary could see the uniqueness in the design. Her gaze lingered on the scene outside the window, her eyes widen, mouth left opened, she observed the whole kitchen "wow, it's amazing"

She sat down, she inhaled the savory aroma, texture of food made the mouth watery, it
expressed the efforts and the love poured by Margaret, Mary's eyelids shut down and a smiled appeared on her face while she inhales the love poured by Margaret in the form of appetising dish.

Mary covering her mouth after completing her meal, she burped a bit, Emily laughed, Mary tried to hide her eye from everyone "sorry everyone, food was really tasty, everyone laughing.

Mary supporting Emily to get up "let's go, time to your medicines and now rest, i will take you to your room" Emily walking slowly, little steps. Mary's hand over her Emily's shoulders and Emily's hand's on Mary's shoulder, Mary carefully opened the door with one hand and then again wrapped it over Emily's shoulders. She bend a bit to help Emily to sit on her bed, "sit here Emily, I'll fetch your medicines" Emily nodded.

Mary unzipped Emily's bagpack, "humming" she grabbed the medicines bag, she spreaded every medicine on her bed, she picked her medicines after lunch, She arranged other medicines on a little shelf in her room, she kindly gazed at Emily, she addressed all the doses and timings to Emily, Emily smiled and nodded.

After giving her medicines, Mary occupied a space for herself to sit besides Emily, she held her hand, she gently rubbed it, Emily looked at Mary, "what are you doing" Mary smiled, she took a pause "you have gone through a lot right" Emily looked away, her action to break the eyecontact gave the answer. Mary touched her face, pointed it towards her face, "look Emily, you are very strong, you survived after everything happened with you, i am proud of you Emily" Mary hugged Emily, Emily tightly hugged Mary.

Mary gently wiped Emily's tears, she grabbed her both shoulders, very softly, with a kind smile "Emily, now take a nap, okay? You need some rest to recover...
Emily nodded her head.

Mary was leaving, Emily spoke in very sweet, soothing, weak tone, "Mary", Mary turned back, "thanks Mary, thanks for staying here" Mary glimmered "say it to Doctor Ethan" she left.
