"Mae... why hasn't Becbec come yet?"

That was the fifth time her son asked the same question since he came straight back from school. It was almost five in the afternoon and Becky wasn't there yet to fulfill the promise she had made to them yesterday.

Now, not only was her son frustrated by the girl's absence, Freen was also frustrated, and disappointed. She hoped the girl would show up today, with her mother, so she could explain what had really happened a few years ago, and she also needed the explanation of what had happened to Becky after she left on the worst day of her life.

Was Becky sick?

She would have known. Becky would have told her the truth. They would still be together if she knew. They would raise their child together if Becky hadn't left her that day. She wouldn't even think about leaving Becky if something happened to her, but Becky did. Becky left her. For some reason, Becky left her. And now, here she was, with the mind and body of another person.

"Mae..?" Her son interrupted, tapping her shoulder.

"Ka, baby?" Freen asked with raised eyebrows, looking at her son who was pointing in Faye's direction. "What?" She then said to her friend.

"I said, can I leave a little early today, nong? Yoko wants to take Fay and I to her family party, I think it's time." She smiled from ear to ear and Freen knew exactly what that meant. Yoko is Faye's new young girlfriend since that last one, after about two years of being single but unavailable, as Faye said.

Faye had adopted little Fay since the kid was two years old after she had broken up with Marissa. It was the best thing she had ever done for herself, she thought. She didn't need anyone anymore, she had her family who loved her, and she had a daughter who needed her love, who wouldn't cheat on her, who wouldn't make her cry every night. If she wasn't meant to find the right person for the rest of her life, maybe Fay was the only person she needed.

After being friends with Freen for years, seeing the bond between mother and son, she thought maybe she needed a kid too. And if Freen could raise a child alone, why couldn't she? So, she adopted Fay and luckily, her family also gave her full support in her decision. That was the only thing she needed, she thought. But that changed when she met Yoko about five months ago and surprisingly, that young woman adored Fay as much as she adored Faye, that was what she liked most about that young girl, apart from being loving and cute.

And now, they finally agreed to take a step further in each other's lives. Yoko wanted all her family members to gather to introduce them to her girlfriend, along with her daughter, who was soon to be part of the family.

"Aww P'Faye, I'm so happy for you and now I'm going to cry na!" Freen said, wiping her fake tears even though she really meant what she said a moment ago. She was so happy for her friend and wished that she could also live life as simple as her friend's, except hers was more than complicated. Not to mention, Mario.

"Nong, have you talked to Mario?"

There she goes...

"Phi... I told you, we don't have time to see each other and right now I don't think it's a suitable time since Beck–.. I mean Becbec... uhm.. forget it na?"

"Aw? What's wrong with nong Becbec? Tell me about her, she isn't coming today?" Faye asked.

"I don't know, phi... Finn has been waiting for her all day and now he's starting to get grumpy, but you can go now if you want na. Tell Yoko I said hi." Freen said as Faye's eyes started to sparkle again upon hearing her girlfriend's name.

A smile crept across her face that confirmed she was absolutely in love with that young woman. And Freen was relieved that Faye had been distracted from asking more about Mario or Becky, because she didn't really have the honest answer to either topic.
