Once Becky saw her mother's car parked near them, she froze. But then she suddenly got excited as she saw her mommy appear from inside the car."Mommy?" She said. She got off the bench and walked towards her mother, but stopped halfway when she remembered the reason she was here with Finn. Therefore, she decided to back away, but it was too late, her mother was already walking towards her as well.
"Mommy... w-what are you doing here?" Her voice cracked, feeling the familiar knot forming in her stomach and she stiffened, waiting as her sense of happiness broke around her.
"I'm here to take you home, come on na."Araya said. "Freen." she nodded, forcing herself not to sound rude and Freen nodded back, trying desperately to stay calm.
Becky then spoke in a tearful voice. "Mai! I don't want to go home, I want to play with Finn! You won't let me come see him again if I come home. Please, mommy." She said as she ran her hands through her hair.
"No honey, you have to come home with me right now. Come on na." Araya replied, trying to grab her daughter's hand before taking her away.
"Mai aw! I don't want to!" Becky screamed, wrapping her arms around her chest.
"Rebecca Patricia! Don't talk to your mom like that! I've had enough of all the mess you've made! Running away, not calling me, not listening to what I say, I'm so disappointed in you."
"I'm sorry mommy." Becky blinked as tears poured from her eyelashes. "I just... I don't like it when you don't let me see Finn. I've been missing him and my angel." She said as she moved to grab onto Finn's shoulders.
Araya's eyes flickered to Finn and then to Freen, then back to her daughter, noticing the name her daughter had called Freen and her blood began to boil. "Just come home with me, now!" She pleaded, now with a higher, sharper tone.
"Mommy... why don't you like it when I'm with Finn? I like it, he's my best friend, P'Freen too." Becky pleaded, now she was crying hard.
All the while, there she was holding Finn tightly. Freen felt her heart beating fast, it hurt so much to see something that broke her heart, but there was nothing she could do to interfere. Becky's eyes were swollen from crying, her cheeks were red and tears were running down her face.
She was sad and seemed terribly confused. She didn't really know why her mother didn't want to let her be with Finn or Freen. After her mother brought her home days ago, her mother told her that she couldn't see them anymore. She told Becky that Freen was a bad person and that she shouldn't be friends with her or her son anymore, but Becky refused to believe it. She started tearing up her bedroom saying that her mother was lying and saying things because she didn't want to let her see them, which she didn't know why.
This sounded familiar to Araya, she had seen her daughter break down before, but worse, and it was for the same old reason.
Freen.
But now, it was for a cute little version of her, Finn.
"Khun ka, can we talk?" Freen said, taking enough tolerance to just stare without showing any action.
Araya inhaled sharply. "Mai, there is nothing to talk about! Please, Becca, come with me now."
"Mai aw! Mai! Mai! I don't want to!" Becky shouted again, and Araya saw that she wanted to take a step back, clinging even closer to Finn.
Her daughter's anxiety made her angrier again. She walked over and took Becky's hand firmly. "Hey, listen! She doesn't deserve you, just like her son..."
"Khun! You have to know that I'm not the one who left Becky." Freen interrupted. "She did it, she left me without me realizing that she was sick. I didn't know she was sick, Khun. I swear, you have to trust me. And please don't say anything about my son like that. He–"
