"Do you have any idea why he called everyone for dinner?" I asked Nicolas as we drove through the city to the family manor. His hand rested on my thigh, rubbing small circles just below the hem of my dress.

"None at all," he laced our hands together. He brought them up to his lips, placing a feathered kiss on the back of my hand,"You have nothing to worry about."

I woke up this morning, to find an arm wrapped around me as we lay in bed, and a hard-on beneath me. Though like every other time, he didn't let things get too far. "That was for you just as it was for me, agápi."
I respected his decision of course but a part of me was confused about why he never seemed to want to have sex with me. A deeper part of me was scared that maybe he was thinking about away would happen in 3 and a half years when our contract ended. Would all of this have been for nothing? Was he protecting himself from any obligations in case things ended horridly?

"Hey. Everything is going to be okay," he planted another kiss as we drove into the driveway. I smiled at him to reassure that I was okay. Atleast, as much as I could be.

Nicolas parked the car, and the hum of the engine faded into the quiet of the family manor. The grandeur of the house loomed before us, with its tall windows and sprawling gardens. I felt a wave of nervousness as we stepped out of the car. I couldn't shake the feeling that tonight would change everything.

We walked inside, his hand still firmly in mine. The dining hall was dimly lit, casting a golden hue over the elegant table. The family was already here, seated around the long, ornate table. I scanned the room quickly- grandpa , stern as always,Chloé seated beside Zaina, poised and elegant, Xion, Kate and little Natalia- the dream family- and Lowie, returned back home for well, we'll have to see how long. This wasn't just dinner. This was something else.

"Uncle Nicky," Tia ran up to hug Nicolas as everyone stood to greet us. I leaned down to hug her as she squealed, "Aunty Sophia," a smile on her lips, so full that it reached her eyes. She embraced Nicolas, then turned to me. "It's lovely to see you again, dear."

The rest of the family exchanged greetings with us as we took our seats, Nicolas pulling out my chair with the same care he always did. I caught his eye, searching for reassurance, but his expression was unreadable. Whatever this dinner was about, he didn't know either.

"Are you excited to be a big sister?" I tickled Tia as she sat beside me. "Yes. I am going to be the best big sister ever," she smiled up at me. "That you are, little princess."

"So when are you hiring a new assistant?" Look at starting a family." I almost spit my drink out as the cup rested on my lips, everyone's gaze focused on us.

Nicolas took a sip, then leaned back in his chair, his fingers lightly brushing mine under the table. He kept his voice low, but I could still hear the hint of something unspoken beneath his usual calm tone.

"You know," he began, glancing at me thoughtfully, "I never really pictured myself settling down, having a family. It always felt like something... distant, something other people did. But lately..." His words trailed off, his brow furrowing slightly as if he was weighing them carefully.

He met my eyes, his expression soft but guarded. "Lately, I've been thinking that maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I mean, if I did it with the right person." He smiled faintly, but there was a flicker of uncertainty, almost like he was testing the waters of his own emotions.

I blinked, unsure how to respond. His words were sincere, but they left me wondering. Was he saying he wanted kids with me, or was this just a fleeting thought? And if he was considering it, why hadn't he ever brought it up before?

Nicolas squeezed my hand, his voice gentle but still carrying that edge of uncertainty. "I guess I'm still figuring out what I want."

A few moments passed, warm conversation filling the silence as drinks were poured. Finally, Grandpa Vasilios, a man who rarely spoke unless he had something important to say, cleared his throat.
