-#[Ethan's pov]:

I froze, staring at her in silence, my clenched fist slowly lowering as my eyes remained fixed on her.

She stood in front of him, a shield between us, protecting him with every fiber of her being. No matter how much I wanted to, I couldn't tear my gaze away from her.

Why? Why did she go to such lengths for him? Do you love him that much, Berry? The thought gnawed at me as I watched her, her eyes locking with mine, fierce and unwavering.

It was as if she was daring me to try again-ready to set the world on fire if necessary to defend him.

Her eyes told me everything. The hatred she held for me was undeniable, and it tore me apart. Those eyes, once filled with warmth, now pierced through my heart.

She had never looked at me this way before, with so much loathing. This was new. This was unbearable.

"I need to talk to him," she finally spoke, breaking the silence, but her words barely registered.

I stood there for a moment longer, absorbing the weight of her hatred, before shifting my gaze toward Jungkook. He stood behind her, his eyes meeting mine with an intensity that matched my own.

We exchanged silent glares-an unspoken war between us-but I eventually turned around, walking away, leaving her with the space she demanded.

You are mine, Berry. You may have forgotten, but I haven't. And I won't let you forget, no matter how much you hate me. I will pull you out of this nightmare, even if it destroys me in the process.

-#[Y/n's pov]:

As I watched Ethan leave, my fists clenched tighter, and my gaze sank to the ground. I gulped, my throat tightening as if it was closing off. I couldn't bring myself to turn and face Jungkook, though I could feel the weight of his stare, steady and unwavering on my back.

Summoning every ounce of courage, I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath. Slowly, I began to turn around, bracing myself for the confrontation.

But as soon as I did, I was startled. Jungkook was standing right behind me, so close, leaving only a few inches between us.

His eyes were locked on mine, silent and intense. His face was a storm of emotions, but whether he was holding them in or if I just couldn't read him, I didn't know.

The tension between us was suffocating, making it hard to even breathe.

I tried to speak, to break the heavy silence. "Jungkook, I-" but before I could finish, his hand reached out, grabbing my wrist. His grip was firm, yet gentle enough not to hurt.

"Let's get back home first," he commanded, his voice leaving no room for argument. His tone was firm, final.

He turned, ready to take me with him, but before he could move, the words I had been holding back tumbled out.

"I can't leave." The words came out plain, yet they carried the weight of a thousand unsaid things. Saying them was harder than I could ever express.

Jungkook froze in his tracks, the tension building around us. He stood still for a few moments, his back to me, before he slowly turned to face me, his eyes searching mine.
