-#[continuation of Vivian's pov]:[half an hour later]:

The door creaked open behind me, but I didn't need to turn to know who it was. Only one person would barge in with that much impatient energy.

"Why haven't you informed Jungkook that we have her yet?"

Aunt Andrea's voice was sharp, demanding an answer I wasn't ready to give. Not yet.

I kept my eyes fixed on the little girl huddled in the corner. She was trembling, her small fingers gripping the fabric of her skirt like a lifeline. Her face was blotchy and red from crying.

"Seems like she really is scared of the dark," I said, a faint, cold amusement stirring inside me.

I slowly turned, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, and met Aunt Andrea's frustrated gaze. Her eyes, which had been burning a hole in my back, flickered toward the girl for a second before snapping back to me, her brow furrowed in confusion.

"That's not an answer to my question," she said, shaking her head. "You should have called him the second we got her. What are you waiting for? You said we would get everything back-"

"Can you stop being so noisy?" I interrupted, dramatically pressing my palms over my ears as if her voice was causing me physical pain.

She fell silent, her lips pressed into a thin, angry line.

I lowered my hands and cast one last, mocking glance at the terrified child. "Can't you see you're scaring the poor thing?"

A heavy silence filled the room. I could feel her frustration boiling over. And then, I let out a soft, dark chuckle.

"C'mon, Auntie," I said, raising an eyebrow. "You want the show to end that quickly?"

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice tight.

I sighed, as if explaining something simple to a child, and walked toward her, my arms still crossed. "We will get everything back. I didn't say we wouldn't. But first..." I let a cruel smile touch my lips. "...shouldn't we let the lovebirds marinate in their own fear for a bit?"

I paused, letting the idea sink in. "From last week, Jungkook has stolen all the sleep from my family. From me. If I call him the moment I have her, where's the point in that? Where's the payback?"

My expression hardened, the smile faltering for a brief second as a wave of genuine bitterness washed over me. I quickly smoothed it away.

"I want him to feel what it's like. I want him to spend a night not knowing if the person he loves more than anything is even breathing. I want it to eat him alive from the inside."

I looked back at Aunt Andrea, my composure fully restored, my voice a silken threat. "That sounds like so much more fun, doesn't it?"

She stared at me, her initial shock melting into something else entirely.

I could see the gears turning behind her eyes. "That's... cruel," she finally said, but the word held no disapproval.

A slow, approving smile spread across her lips. "I like it."

But then, the practical worry resurfaced. "But... what if they find us? It's Jungkook we're dealing with. He's not alone. Don't forget Ethan and Axel are with him. Those two would burn the world down for him. Especially Axel, with his-"

"You think I didn't plan for that?" I cut her off, giving her a look that said she was stating the obvious. "Do you honestly believe I'd set this in motion without accounting for Axel Lee's particular set of skills?" A confident smirk touched my lips.
