—#[continuation of scene: author’s pov]:

There he was—Jungkook—in a place that she didn’t recognize, until the realization hit her that it was a bar, crowded with people.

And among them, the one with Jungkook was…her.

Vivian.

Her hand lightly rested over his shoulder, as they sat next to each other, too close, far too close for comfort. Her helping him up.

And then—the last one.

Where she had leaned closer to him, so close that from an angle it seemed as if they were kissing.

(P.s: These pictures were secretly taken by Vivian in the bar, making them look intimate. The day when Jungkook had passed out, it's mentioned in chapter 47 and 48)

Seeing all the photos, y/n felt as if she couldn't breathe. Her hands dropped to her lap as the photos scattered like broken memories across the bedsheet.

Her heart… it felt like it had finally shattered.

All those words Andrea had spoken, all the doubts that had been trying to claw their way into her heart—they were now rooted, suffocating her.

Are they…really together..?

Was this the reason…why he hadn't called..?

Was this what he…chose, instead of me?

He really…gave up on me…didn't he..?

The sob that escaped her was raw—more like a whisper of a scream that she didn't have the strength to voice out loud.

Her hand involuntarily found its way towards her chest, squeezing it tightly. “It hurts here…it hurts…so much…”  a silent murmur escaped her lips.

Her life… the future she had once imagined with him… the family she had hoped to build—it all seemed to have crumbled right before her eyes, captured in frames she wished she had never seen.

Her gaze silently drifted toward the letter lying quietly on the bedsheet—as if mocking her in silence. For the first time, she felt true fear clutch her chest, paralyzing her limbs at just the thought of opening it.

With trembling hands, she reached out and picked it up. Her fingers struggled to tear it open as her breath hitched, her lips quivering, and tears continued to fall relentlessly.

She finally unfolded the letter, and her eyes began to scan the words—every sentence hitting her like a dagger.

Letter:

I won’t insult you by asking if you’re okay—because I know you’re not. Not after seeing the little gift I sent you.

But don’t waste your time trying to find out who sent this. Just think of me as someone watching from the sidelines—someone who couldn’t bear to see you live in a fantasy any longer.

You say you love him, but the man you love… is about to get engaged to the daughter of the Kim family. It’s not a rumour, nor a misunderstanding. It’s happening, whether you know it or not.

Now, you may be wondering—why would a stranger care enough to tell you this?

Let’s just say… I know how it feels to love someone who never truly chose you.
