RAGNAR'S P.O.V.

A low groan left my lips as my eyes opened, and I realized Elara was not in bed, but I didn't care. Being Alpha or.not my father's death hit like a ton of rocks and sleeping on everything made it better

I freshened up and got myself ready for the office, but my stomach growled which made me sigh. I had to eat something before I left with Elara outside. I'm certain Lyra had cooked something.

The mere thought of her still living under my roof did nothing but piece me off, but I knew it was what my father would have wanted and nothing else, I just needed to be patient and make her suffer for what she had done

“Elara! Are you down…" My voice trailed off as I perceived the scent of blood and I looked forward to seeing Elara on the floor with the flower vase broken into pieces and my heart raced, “... Elara?”

I reached for her to see that she was unconscious and bleeding badly. I picked her up and rushed towards the car. I had no idea of how long she had been unconscious, but it was seven. I was going to be late to my meeting.

“Georgia!” I growled her name as soon as I walked into the hospital and the nurses pulled out a stretcher to take her while Georgia ran towards me.

“Take care of her, I don't know how long she's been unconscious or sleeping but keep her alive, if she dies you will follow her.” She swallowed in fear.

“Yes alpha” She immediately ran and followed them

Something wasn't right. My wolf has been restless this morning and I knew too well that it wasn't about Elara. I went back home to find that Lyra was nowhere to be found.

Lyra was too weak to lift the vase, so could have done this to Elara? I ruffled my hair and found something to eat before leaving for the company.

I hadn't been able to concentrate on anything ever since father died, but now I was going to make everything back to normal and deal with pack later, the company needed me now

“Good morning sir.” I button my suit as I was greeted by Harold.

“What's the schedule for the day?”

“Your meeting has already started, they are in the meeting lodge waiting patiently for you?”

“Why didn't they start without me?” I pushed the door open, and three men stood up on their seats like I had expected “... Why didn't the meeting start?” I asked them entirely ignoring their greetings, and they held weird looks in their faces.

“We didn't want you to miss out on anything, please have a seat and we will start right away. We are sorry for the loss of your...”

“Get the meeting started, Mr. Slater. Don't piss me off!” I growled and they shivered a bit before getting on with it.

Weak humans!

I loved the company as much as I did anything but having meetings with humans was one part of my work which I dreaded, Elara usually attended these meetings, but she's in the hospital

I listened to what the investors were projecting but couldn't focus. I wasn't worried about Elara but I was more pissed that my house was tampered with and Lyra was nowhere to be found.

After an hour, my phone buzzed in my pocket and I picked it up before excusing myself from the meeting.

“No one stepped into the house, Ragnar" I heard George's voice from the other side of the phone and I groaned in frustration “... Lyra isn't in the pack entirely either and Georgia said you need to come to the husband. Elara is going crazy” My legs began walking towards the entrance as I hung up.
