LYRA'S P.O.V.

My heart beat gently as I followed right behind her. I had a bad feeling about it because the further we went, the darker it got. There was no light down the hallway in which we walked, and her body remained sniffed, but I dare not say a word.

She suddenly paused and tapped on something on the wall before walking in, and I realized it was a small room with traces of dry blood on the floor that made me swallow hard

“Sit” She motioned towards a chair and I took a seat while she circled me carefully and her extremely sharp nails brushed across my cheek almost causing me a scratch, “what are your intentions in here?”

“Nothing. I just want a home where I can raise my kids” She paused and looked at me.

Her hazel fine eyes were now the darkest thing I've seen. Her jaws clenched and I would have sworn any minute from now she was thinking of digging her nails into my cheek, but she let go of my cheek and smiled, a very wicked one.

“No intentions to steal my husband?” Her question made me furrow my eyebrows confused and I remembered what the maid was talking about.

“No, he is just the Alpha of the pack and nothing else” She looked at me closely with jealousy looming in them like she will murder me

“Then explain to me why you have met him twice in a roll with no one around”

“We didn't meet on purpose on my path, he appeared like a shadow out of nowhere" Fear filled me, but I couldn't let her see it, or she'll think I'm lying

“That's good. Stay away from him Lyra, you're a nice girl with good children. Don't make me take them away from you. Now run along” I stood up immediately and darted out of the room.

My hands trembled as tears ran down my eyes. I didn't know what she saw or what was going on, but I didn't like it and if I tried to run away, they would suspect I was here for some reason and would hunt me down.

I cleaned the tears as I approached the entrance which we followed, and I went to the kitchen to pick food for the kids only to see them seated at the table with Vallar and I froze in my spot

“Lyra! Join us” Vallar called out, and I snapped out of my frozen moment but just then Hannah strolled in and glared at me before placing a hand on him.

“I'm full, thank you. I just wanted to check on the boys” I smiled and left before he got the chance to respond.

If there was one thing I didn't want from them it's attention, especially from a woman who thinks I'm out to steal her husband for reasons I don't even know.

I walked to the kitchen to get the dishes down and ate my food. I couldn't take the food upstairs, or they would know I was lying. As soon as I was done, I cleared everything and walked upstairs to see the boys playing around.

“Hey boys!” Zayn attacked me with a hug and Zeph calmly came to hug “... What have you guys been up to?”

“Al… Alpha Vallar told us dragon stories…"

“Which was a lie” Zeph cut him off with a bored expression

“Mum!” They both yell at the same time and I swear I'm going to throw these kids out to the garden for ants to feed on.

“Well Dragons are fictional characters that existed long ago, but now they are all gone” They both looked at me like I had told the worst lie in existence before letting out a smile
