LYRA'S P.O.V.

It's been two weeks since we left Amanda's pack and Vallar hasn't even been the same. He pushed to training every morning before my chaos and every night before bed.

I understood that we are trying to make me stronger, but something wasn't right with him and I already a had enough and was walking to his office

I knocked on the door gently before hearing a soft “come in” From the other side of the door and I opened up to see him sorting some papers

“What do you want?” The questions without looking at me.

“Answers” He paused then raised the head to look at me finally, he hadn't done that in two weeks, and it was causing me to worry

“Answers? Based on what?” He looked away again.

“Why you haven't looked at me in the eye since when we came back? Why have you done nothing but make my life hard since coming back? Did I do something wrong?”

“I'm basically just training you for a hard life, plus you aren't going to always get my protection” I furrow my eyebrows confused

Something wasn't right

“What do you mean by that?”

“It's just the truth I'm not always going to be there”

“Vallar, please tell me the truth" He let out a sigh, dropped the pen before looking at me deeply and took his eyes off me again

“The elders what you other of the pack, the entire pack thinks you killed Hannah and are out to get you even if I told them in the public announcement that you didn't do it” My blood ran cold as I looked at him and I felt the familiar sting of tears

“You're going to kick me out?”

“I… I don't have a choice, Lyra”

“No… No, you do have a choice, you're the Alpha of the pack you can…"

“John tried to kill the boys twice while we were away, someone tried to set your room on fire when we returned. The fire started from out so I stopped it before it got inside, the night you saw me outside your room and I lied to come and check up on you”

“Why… Why do they want to do that so much?”

“Most of them know you are Ragnar's wife. Darius came here all the time, did he tell you how they have attempted to kill him? Severally?” I swallowed hard as I took a seat.

I knew whatever news I was going to receive would be difficult to digest, but this wasn't what I was expecting. I never took Hannah's place as Luna in the pack even once, I am friends with Vallar but that meant nothing.

“When did you intend to tell me?” I fought the tears that wanted to fall as I looked at him.

“After a month”

“A month?”

“I made a promise to Darius to take care of you if you ever come here, I will not send you out without proper training. A month is enough for me to buy time from everyone here so you wouldn't get killed when I'm in a meeting"
“I… I don't know what to say” I covered my face with my palm as I thought of how I was going to go back to that life again.

There's no way I could go back to the human world or to another pack, it was too dangerous. I had no choice but to go back to my birth home, it was the only place I could live.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I slowly began to cry as I stood up and hugged him. He has done so much for us, and he's still willing to do more even if everyone is against us.
