LYRA’S P.O.V.

Breathing heavily I shifted back to human form and carried a sleeping Zeph in my arms. I was finally in the human world but was still an hour away from home, don’t get me wrong m y house is nowhere near the woods

“Taxi!” I called out with my throat so dry that it hurts a lot but I ignored it

I stepped in while brushing through Zeph’s hair gently, he was as head strong as ragnar I had no doubt in that but nothing hunts me more than knowing he always wanted me dead before now, I didn’t know what ragnar had told him but I had a bad feeling that ragnar was up to something I just hope he hadn’t gotten to Zayn before I did

The taxi came to a halt and I gently carried Zeph before pushing the door open and all the air in my lungs got knocked out by the sight in front of me. Zayn was sitting in front of the TV playing video games with Antonio

I knew I was expecting Zayn to be safe or be in some sort of danger but Antonio being in my living room was something I’ll never expect

“mummy!” zayn’s voice brought me back to reality as he hugged my legs while my eyes was fixed on Antonio and Zeph jolt awake from the sound of Zayn’s scream

“What are you doing here?” My voice was colder than I expected but I cleared my throat and looked at him intensively “sorry, I’ve been running a lot, weren’t you meant to be in New York?”

“I missed my flight”

“That can’t be true, I took you to the airport very early tonio, why are you truly here?” I pulled Zayn into my side as I looked at the dangerous look that lingered in his eyes as he looked between zayn and zeph

“He isn’t meant to be with you, you aren’t even meant to be here” he sounded frustrated and thought ran through my mind as I felt the familiar sting of tears in my eyes

It can’t be, it just can’t be

“This is my house, do not question me in my house!” I growled at him accidentally ently and he laughed

“So you are finally admitting who you truly are. You lied to everyone around so easily, Lyra I mean even if I already knew you before we met I’m really crushed at the fact that you lied about your identity” my heart was louder than ever as I looked at him but he didn’t blink and his face was blank and had no bit of emotion on it

“I.. I don’t know what you’re talking about, Zayn go upstairs with your brother” I kept zeph on the ground and they both looked at each other wanting to say something but my voice stopped them “Zayn take you brother upstairs and lock the room

Both of them immediately ran up and I looked at Antonio who had his eyes on them

“What do you want? I have kids upstairs and it’s not a good image from Zayn to see us fight?”

“Tell Ragnar that, I have no business with you, I just came to take Zayn to his father. I thought your husband kicked you out of your home at first even after he sent me on a mission to be with you always but you ran away leaving your child behind after killing Darrius?” my heart snapped into pieces as I looked at him and the tears slowly dropped from my eyes

“You were working with Ragnar this entire time?” my voice was soft as I looked at him and the betrayal washes over me like water from a hose

“Did you really think I spent five years of my life being with you for no reason?"

“You loved me Antonio, you told me yourself every night when you slept with me. I trusted you with everything, I couldn’t let my identity be known because it’s a werewolf’s thing to never tell a soul, how could you even do this to me?”

“I’m not a human, and I definitely don’t owe you an explanation for anything I do. Ragnar told me to do anything to you and to me you were nothing more than someone that can use to pass away time, you were too stupid to be caught up with your fantasies of your life that you forgot about the pending debt you owe Ragnar”

“Owe Ragnar? Ragnar made my life a living hell and you accepted his lies without a single proof. Get out of my house now!” I growled at him as I pointed towards the door but he remained in his position “I said get out!”

“No. I will not move from the position because I didn’t come here for you” he began walking towards the stairs and I blocked his path which made him look at me “… move out of the way, Lyra” his eyes flashed gold causing shiver to run down my spine but I didn’t move an inch

“I will not let you touch my…” I trailed as he grabbed my hand and yanked it away from his path but I swung my body and let his back slam against the wall and he let out a soft groan.

“you little..” he launched towards me with his eyes glowing gold and i immediately knew that his wolf was in control but I could barely believe that all these years he had been my enemy and  I felt irritated with myself knowing, a part of me really wanted us to end  up together

His caws dug my upper arm which caused me to scream in pain but I kicked him so hard and before he could recover from the hit I used a baseball bat to hit him on the head but he only got angrier which made my breath unsteady

Any normal wolf would have passed it from that move but perhaps he wasn’t a normal wolf, that’s why I never knew he was one, that’s why I never.. My words were were cut short when he threw a table towards my direction and I immediately dodged it before launching towards him

He punched me in the gust and I swung the bat before hitting again so hard this time and I fell to the ground. I hit him again and this time blood poured out of his ear and he passed out of completely

Panic made its way through my body as I reached down for him to torch his pulse but I felt nothing. My heart shattered knowing I had killed him, It didn’t matter that he had betrayed me I still loved him as a friend

After few minutes I pulled him out of the house and the security man was practically injured but alive looked at me carefully

“I was about to warn you, he killed everyone including the nanny”

“I had no idea, I’m so sorry. Can you watch the kids for few minutes?” he nods and I pushed Antonio’s body into the car before driving out of the house

After fifteen minutes I stopped the car and threw his body in the flowing water before hurrying home. I tried to fight the tears that kept falling but I couldn’t control it anymore, I was tired and exhausted but I couldn’t rest, not while ragnar way still alive

I got and immediately rushed to the kids only to see Georgia in the room trying to pack a little bag for them

“What are you doing here?” she was startled by my voice and looked me as though I was some ghost from the land of the dead which she offended a long time ago

“Lyra listen to me I…”

“That wasn’t my question, what the hell are you doing here?” my blood did nothing but boil in anger as I looked at her

"Lyra, relax I'm not going to hurt you I..."

"Hurt me?" I laughed out if disbelief as I watched her "... The only reason I am in this mess is because of you,if you hadn't told Ragnar I was back we wouldn't have had this problem by now"

"Antonio was..."

"Antonio betrayed me. I know that, it's my fault but I trusted you with everything Georgia, you knew exactly what I went through and you told Ragnar about my whereabouts so that he could get rid of Elara?" Her eyes widened at my words and she realized I heard everything she said before

"I am so sorry I ..."

"Sorry doesn't justify what you have done. If you have a little bit of sympathy in your heart then please leave me and my kids alone"

"Ragnar"

"I'll deal with him, just go away”
