LYRA'S P.O.V.

I stepped into the medicine store, and I was immediately hit with the urge to vomit. I've always hated drugs, we didn't have much of it as werewolves, it was mostly pregnant women and people with serious infections.

“What can I help you with?” A young man walked up to me with a t-shirt that had his name written on it.

“Here” I passed him the list of every medicine for Mave and he came back with lots off then that made me gag a little

“Here's everything, you can pay the bills over there” I smiled a little and went to make the payment while tagging Zayn along

After taking Mave home I had to get his medicines, the doctor said he wasn't in a critical condition, but it scared me to death knowing I had almost lost him from a heart attack

“Is it for grandpa?” Zayn asked as I strap him to the back sit, and he looked at the medicine in the bag.

“Yes, do we have to hurry home” I got in the car and drove home quietly

The past two days has been nothing but havoc, keeping Katy from crying was much of a bigger task than I thought, and it's a miracle that Mave could walk on his own now, considering his condition today ago

I drove into the parking lot and the smell of blood reaches my nose which makes me furrow my eyebrows confused and the front window was open

That window is never open. Something isn't right.

“Zayn, stay in the car” He looked at me with a worried expression but doesn't say a thing

He might just be three months old, but he does look and acts like a toddler. I closed him in the car and walked towards the front porch with my heart beating in the fastest way possible.

I knocked on the door and tried to open it but no one answered. I knew it wasn't time for Katy's bedtime and it was barely six. I knocked again and heard no response.

I tried to steady my heart beat as I pulled the keys off my back pocket and unlocked the door, the smell of blood was now stronger than ever but as I stepped inside the house my blood ran cold, and I would have sworn that my heart came to a complete halt

No… No… No… This can't be possible.

Tears filled my eyes as I saw blood splattered all over the ground and three bodies lay on the ground dead. My legs moved without thinking and I recognized them as Katy, Mave and the nurse.

“Mave you have to get up, this isn't funny, Katy?” I called their names and shook their bodies but no response.

This cannot be happening? Was it possible to pull a prank so hard that it looked too real? My heart became heavy as I tried to breathe.

An ear-piercing scream left my mouth as I began to sob loudly. The marks on their bodies told me everything I needed to know, Ragnar was behind this and… A hand upon my shoulders made me jump, and I turned to see Zayn with tears in his eyes.

“It's that grandma?”

“I…" I picked him up and walked out the house completely lost of words.

I let the tears flow as I hugged him tightly and my heart squeezed itself so hard. Was it so bad to just be happy? It has just been two months, and you ripped away from that happiness already!

My voice screamed within me as I thought of the moon goddess, some goddess she is indeed, choosing favorite from her children, and I'm certain I'm considered the most hated on

I pulled my phone out with my left hand while I held on to Zayn with the other and swiped before dialing 911

“H… Hello, can you send an… An ambulance to my residence, someone just murdered my family” I dropped the phone as I tried to hold my tears back.
