~Sleeping Beauty~I groan rolling over, in bed. Wait a bed? I quickly sit up not recognizing where the hell I was. The worst part was the only sign of Reed was the jacket I had given him.
I yanked the covers off and run out. Immediately I recognize where I am. I slow down, walking down the stairs as I hear people.
"Take that!" Reed says happily.
"Dude, how did you do that? That's not even possible on this game." That was Maddox. When I get down far enough I see them sitting in the couch playing a game.
There was also a stack of pancakes in front of Reed. "Do you think sleeping beauty is up yet?" Maddox asks.
"Ew she is not sleeping beauty. More like the beast. But if she is we'd probably hear her yelling or cussing." Reed laughs.
"Really?" Maddox asks.
"Oh yeah. This one time when we spent the night at our cousins, she forgot. So when she woke up and she was convinced she was kidnapped and kept screaming and banging on the door." He laughs.
"Maybe I should go check on her just to make sure." He says.
"Your funeral dude." I quickly go back to the room and get under the blankets. Just as I close my eyes the door slowly opens. I listen carefully, as the door closes and footsteps approach.
I feel the bed dip and he brushes a piece of stray hair out of my face. "What the hell are you doing to me Tate?" He asks.
I feel like if he was going to continue I'm not meant to hear it. So I fake wake up, I stretch my legs and arms and groan.
Slowly opening my eyes I look at him acting confused.
"Where am I?" I mutter slowly sitting up. I make the mistake of rubbing my face and I wince in pain.
"You're in my guest bedroom. I was going to put you in my room, but your brother seemed really persistent that he sleep with you." He says with a sad look on his face.
"Right." I mutter.
"What happened shortcake?" He asks moving closer.
"Things just escalated." I mumble looking away from him. He forced me to look at him with a finger to my chin.
"Tell me."
"Well after Laura dropped me off I heard something smash. When I went in Reed was on the couch looking scared as fuck. She had taken a plate and smashed his Xbox. Then we started arguing, I pissed her off bring up her past abortions and she slapped me. I did knock on your door but you weren't here so we just ran, to get away from her. We ended up in the diner and that's kind of the last thing I remember." I admit.
"Fuck I'm so sorry, I should have been here for you."
"Don't do that. It's not your fault, she is a ticking time bomb." I shake my head. I could see he wanted to ask something else. "What is it?" I ask.
"I wasn't going to say anything, but it's been on my mind all day. Last night when I brought you guys here, she didn't see you, but she asked about you, of course I lied. But then she said she was worried that you were going to try to take your life again. I'm not going to judge you if you did. I just want to know, so I can help you." He says.
