~Best Damn Brownies~Have you ever woken up completely clueless and disoriented? If you haven't I'll tell you it sucks. The room was dark, when I sit up the room sways. I wait for it to stop to look around. I was in the nurses office.
My face was hurting. I slowly get up and go to the bathroom. My eye luckily wasn't swollen or swelling, but it was turning into a black eye.
I groan in pain when I gently poke it. "Where is my daughter?" I hear my dad's frantic voice.
Walking out, I see his eyes widen at me. "What the hell happened?" He demands.
"It appears there was an altercation in the lunch room and it got out of control and your daughter got hit." The receptionist says.
"Where were the teachers? Why didn't you stop the fight?" He demands holding me against him.
"W-we, I'm sorry sir." She was frazzled.
"Sorry? That's all I get? My daughter's first day of her senior year and she gets punched in the face and has a black eye and all we get is a sorry? We are leaving."
"I totally understand and don't worry we won't count this absent against her." She says.
"Damn right!" With his arm around me he guides me out to the car. The whole ride home he keeps asking if I'm okay and I reassure him I'm fine.
Once we are home I convince him to go back to work, since I knew we needed the money. I lay in bed, ice pack on my face. It's not long before I fall asleep once more.

It's not long before I'm woken by my brother. "Did you finally fall down the ugly tree?" He asks.
"Shut up Reed." I groan.
"Fine, but are you okay?" He asks.
"Yeah I'm good kid." I say.
"Good, now get up and tell your guest to go away." He says.
"Guest?" I question.
"Yeah some guy. He has been knocking on the door for like ten minutes now." He says leaving.
I get up and make my way to the door where someone was knocking on the door. When I open it I'm not pleased with the sight.
Well slightly unsatisfied, Tommy had more bruises then I was sporting. He had a look of remorse on his face.
"It's Taylor right?" He says.
"Yeah sure, why are you here?" I ask angrily.
First he hits me in the face and now he can't even get my name right.
"Look I just wanted to apologize. I really didn't mean to hit you." He says.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see we were being watched. "Yeah well, maybe if you didn't fuck another dudes girl none of this would have happened." I say angrily slamming the door in his face.
