Chapter 30: Frail Body

The boxing gym was expansive, filled with people practicing at night. Some trained for fun, while others aimed for fitness. At a glance, the room was populated with tall, muscular young men.

The sound of boxing gloves connecting resonated throughout the gym.

“Damn, Brother Lu, what brings you here today?” one of the trainers exclaimed.

“I want to practice. Can you book a room for me?” Lu Beihuai replied.

“Sure thing! We’ll use your usual room; it’s available today.”

“Great.”

As Song Qie followed Lu Beihuai into the boxing gym, he noticed the handsome guy at the front desk greeting him with familiarity, even calling him “Brother Lu.” Intrigued, Song Qie couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion. Lu Beihuai here was a stark contrast to the quiet, reserved boy he knew from school, who had once been bullied by “Song Qie.” Here, he seemed right at home.

It seemed that the animosity towards "Song Qie" was still running high.

He rubbed his ears in distress, pondering how to earn Lu Beihuai’s favor. This guy wasn’t the type to voice his thoughts outright; he preferred to be understood through hints.

The receptionist glanced at the handsome boy standing beside Lu Beihuai, whistled, and smiled, “Brother Lu, who’s this? Why don’t you introduce him? This is the first time I’ve seen you bring someone here—is he a guest?”

Song Qie had never been whistled at before, and he instinctively moved behind Lu Beihuai, seeking safety. What was there for a man to be whistled at? He suddenly felt a wave of depression wash over him.

Lu Beihuai shot an indifferent glance at the receptionist.

Her cheer faded under his gloomy gaze as she handed him the key, falling silent, too wary to say anything more.

If anyone in the boxing gym was valued by the boss this year, it was Lu Beihuai. He had transitioned from a part-time sparring partner to a rising star in the boxing arena, earning significant fame and wealth for the gym, and attracting many affluent investors to the competitions.

More importantly, he possessed terrifying arm strength and explosive power. His looks were rare in the boxing world, and his skill made him a force to be reckoned with. During training, no one dared provoke him or spar with him; even the most confident opponents scattered in his wake.

Even those who no longer participated in matches still held a certain fear of him.

As Lu Beihuai accepted the key, he glanced back at Song Qie, who remained hidden behind him. A smirk tugged at his lips as he thought, "How could he be scared of anyone?" He took Song Qie’s arm and led him inside, deliberately positioning him in front to shield him from the prying eyes.

The boxing gym was vast, featuring a public area for practice as well as private training rooms that provided a degree of confidentiality.

Song Qie followed Lu Beihuai into a spacious, brightly lit boxing room, fully equipped with basic warm-up gear. Various boxing gloves hung on the left wall, while standing and hanging sandbags occupied the right. A full glass wall allowed for visibility.

Lu Beihuai casually tossed his backpack aside and moved to the wall of gloves, selecting a pair.

“Come here,” he called, turning slightly to look at Song Qie.

Song Qie hesitated for a moment, holding his right elbow with his left hand, then weakly raised his hand. “Um, teacher, I can’t box.”

“I didn’t ask you to hit me. Just come over,” Lu Beihuai said, tearing off the Velcro on his gloves.
