Haerin sighed sadly as she stood in front of a river—watching how Danielle was washing her hands. The moonlight blue shone over them gently, highlighting different pretty patterns on a nearby space, making the feline more and more conscious about where they were and how annoying it was getting slowly. It was supposed to be a quick quest that would be done in a short time. All of this reminded Haerin of that time she spent with Yeonjun in the cave and it made her uneasy. She knew something similar was lurking around—her logic was screaming at her to get away or investigate, any one of those decisions would lead to at least something—but with Danielle here with her, Haerin couldn't risk anything.

So, with only one ambition etched in her mind, she defended Danielle with her whole soul. It was inevitable anyway, she was an innocent civilian and it was the feline's job to save anyone who wasn't above or near her level of agility.

Danielle's sigh made Haerin slowly evacuate from her negative thoughts—looking down to notice the girl's wet bangs turn curly. The feline blinked a few times in astonishment and crouched down beside the girl, staring at her features. "Why do you straighten your hair?," She asked with a raised brow.

The pretty one looked up and Haerin's face, and the feline swore that her eyes sparkled whenever she looked at her. Could be her delusional side talking, but she still felt like it. "I like it more when it's straight." Now, call Haerin a loser, but she was no fool. This reply had several messages etched on it, but she didn't dare to say anything about it.

Instead, she smiled and slowly raised her finger, caressing the older's cheek with stars in her eyes. Danielle gulped at the display of affection and leaned more into the touch, savoring every moment and second. "What a shame. I like it curly more." The brunette looked up at Haerin again, her orbs shaking, her hair swaying from the gentle wind, and her eyes trying to find a trace of lies that could be subsided in the feline's words. But, fortunately, she found none. It was raw emotion, the truth that finally escaped. "And I like you too.." Haerin mumbled and Danielle smirked.

"What? I don't think I heard you." She teased and watched the feline's face go red. Never in her life would she think that the needed confession from her crush would be done with dinosaurs listening to it.

Haerin cleared her throat. "I said that I like you. Like, a lot." She confessed and averted her gaze elsewhere—still finding it a bit awkward and intimate when they had eye contact, even though they kissed twice already.

Danielle, however, seemed eager about these intimate moments. She inched closer, so close that her breath was hitting Haerin's lips. The latter blinked nervously a few times and almost blanked out when Danielle's lips ghosted over hers, their fingers intertwined on the ground now. "I'll never get bored of hearing that." She giggled when the feline's face turned redder than ever—and dived in to attach their lips in the most gentle kiss that they shared until now. Haerin sighed through it in content and circled Danielle's nape, while the latter was cupping her cheek.

They pulled away with softened eyes after some time and laughed at their predicament—both flushed from the action.

Haerin continued staring at Danielle—but her eyes caught some movement behind. She quickly started listening to the spider-sense and narrowed her eyes, noticing black clothing. She knew that the vultures would follow them here—she knew that very well—so when they finally showed up, Haerin had no other choice to grab her girl and run slowly and calmly to a different space. The two lovebirds hid behind a huge bush and the feline watched the black clothed men walk around—probably trying to find them. She followed all of their movements, while holding Danielle's shaking hand. She made sure to caress her fingers with the pad of her thumb—so the latter didn't feel too scared.
