The hidden bar Libra had found online was tucked away on a rooftop, its entrance concealed by a side alley. Inside, the atmosphere was laid-back, with low lights and a cool breeze drifting through the open air. The view overlooked the quiet city streets below, adding a feeling of detachment from the bustle of life. The place had the kind of vibe that felt like a secret, and Libra, with his knack for finding these little gems online, had insisted they come here.
Gemini was the first to arrive, greeting Capricorn with a nod as they settled into a booth near the edge of the rooftop, the soft glow of neon signs below casting their faces in a faint blue. Capricorn, as usual, was serious, his eyes scanning the drink menu before setting it down without much interest.
- You look like you're thinking about work already, man. - Gemini leaning back in his chair - Lighten up, it's a meet-up, not a business meeting.
Capricorn gave a small, exasperated smile, his usual response to Gemini's teasing. Before he could respond, Libra arrived, followed closely by Scorpio. The moment she stepped into view, Scorpio's usually confident and composed expression faltered, her shoulders tensing as she approached the group. She had been dreading this meeting for the past two weeks, replaying her last encounter with Libra over and over in her head—the way she had drunkenly flirted with him after a few too many drinks.
She was many things, but a bad drinker wasn't something she wanted to be remembered for.
- Hey, everyone. - Scorpio offer a weak greeting
- Thought you were too deep in a random crime scene to make it tonight! - Gemini refreshingly replied
Scorpio shot him a look as she sat down, trying to keep her cool despite the butterflies in her stomach from seeing Libra again.
Capricorn handed her the drink menu, and she grabbed it quickly, grateful for the distraction. She hadn't forgotten her drunken behavior the last time they met—especially not how she'd been overly flirty with Libra. The memory had haunted her for two weeks.
Libra, noticing her unease, immediately stepped in to relieve the tension.
- Last time was a bit of a blur, huh? I probably drank more than I should've. Don't even remember half of it.
Scorpio's shoulders relaxed slightly, his easygoing demeanor making it clear he wasn't going to mention anything about her behavior. A small, grateful smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
- Yeah... same here. It was... just one of those nights. - Scorpio replied, feeling a little bit more at ease
They exchanged a brief look of mutual understanding before Scorpio pretend to look at the menu again, flipping through it without really reading. She ended up mumbling something about no more alcohol.
- Water tonight? - Capricorn asked, looking surprise
- Yeah. Not trying to get... too comfortable this time. - Scorpio said with a forced, casual tone
Libra, again, offer her a way out:
- If you're not drinking tonight, I can recommend a good mocktail or maybe a light cocktail I read about—just one shot in it. Water for the weekend couldn't be good!
Scorpio relaxed at his easygoing tone. The awkwardness she'd been feeling began to melt away, replaced by a faint smile:
- Alright, let's hear what you've got.
They exchanged a few more suggestions, Libra naming a couple of trendy drinks he'd found online. The conversation drifted comfortably into safer territory, and by the time they placed their orders, the initial awkwardness between Scorpio and Libra had all but vanished.
