'What a wicked game to play'
Chapter 29:
(Dylan's POV)
I had been gone for over 24 hours and coming back thinking that she was still asleep because i had no response from my text or i had no phone call from my parents to tell me, I was happy that i didn't miss her wake up. But When I got in, I was coming into a different environment from when i left, i could hear that mom and dad were shouting about something.
"Patrick just go find her, she couldn't have gone far" she shouted. Me and Julia stayed at the doorway awaiting and listening into their conversation
"You stay here just in case she comes back." he shouted. I could hear movement sounding like he was getting his boots and started putting them on in a rush. Until who comes back? Were they talking about us? or were they talking about Ella?
"We were meant to look after her. For Dylan's sake at least" She said sounding worried.
"I know but we'll get her back before he comes back" he said. We started to walk up the stairs and headed for the living room when we heard them go silent. Walking in, i saw them both look frantic and worried. They didn't see us enter so when i spoke up, it came to a shock to them.
"Too late" i said which startled them. They both looks in my general direction and then looked away not daring to even look at me.
"How much did you hear?" he asked facing me. His tone sounded parental but yet still worried.
"Enough to know that she's gone" i said sounding pissed. It didn't click onto me until i said those words what has happened. Ella's awake and she's gone walkabouts.
"Son we're sorry we thought she was-" he said before i interrupted him
"I thought by me leaving i could trust you to look after her" I sternly said. I ran my hand through my hair before looking in a direction that wasn't near them.
"You can" Mom said now brave enough to look at me.
"Clearly" i said in a sarcastic tone walking slowly towards her.
"She walked off, we had told her not to leave but when we turn around for a couple of minutes to sort out our personal issue's, she had ran off" Dad explained
"She couldn't have got far Dylan" Julia said involving herself in the conversation. I watched as mom's facial expression basically wrote the words 'Yeah okay'. I looked at Dad and he had the same expression.
"Why do i feel like I'm missing something?" i asked as they both faced different directions to avoid my confrontation. They went silent before dad spoke up, What were they hiding?
"Ella has power's" Dad said being brave enough to speak up.
"What?" i asked. I thought only people who were born into immortality gained power's? What was he talking about?
"She has a gift" Mom said walking forwards towards me until she came in front of me. She let out her hands so i could read her mind to see what she could see.
*Vision*
I could see Ella and Mom in Mom's walk in wardrobe and Ella looked breathtaking. God this vision made me yearn to see her now more so than ever. I could see her eyes were in their immortal state and yet she still looked beautiful. Ella and Mom walked out of her wardrobe, hugged and then i watched how Ella ran like the speed of light away. I could see how she ended up outside through my mom's vision, I watched how my mom watched Ella's speed until she stopped outside. Mom turned away from Ella and walked away and the vision faded away.
*End of Vision*
I sharply took my hands away from mom's and took a step back. I looked at mom's facial expression who looked just as shocked as i did.
"Does she have another power?" I asked weakly. Going into someone's mind makes me due to the amount of power and restraint i have to use to get into someone's mind without damaging my own.
"Not that we or herself knows of" Mom said taking a step away towards dad. I walked abruptly away outside to try and follow her footsteps. I looked around and saw the movement of the wind in the tree's and the sunshine coming through, i can imagine how she would like stand and watch that. I saw in the corner of my eye however my car with the glass smashed so i ran over to see what she would have taken, and with no luck of finding it, she must have taken her phone with her. I got out my phone and called her. Even though it went straight to voice mail, i kept on trying hoping that she would answer but she didn't. Either her battery has died or she has turned off her phone. I threw my phone in the car and lent on it so i was looking in the car.
"Hey need a hand" Julia said coming from behind me making me jump out of my skin. I turned around to face her and she looked the same girl she always was, the complete opposite i met in Bora Bora. She had her hands in her back pockets of her ripped jeans and she looked around us.
"I don't understand where she could have gone" I said. She gave me a halfheartedly smile before she was about to speak out but she was interrupted by Dad coming outside loudly. He had his coat and his boots on looking like he was going somewhere with his keys in his right hand whilst he put his phone in his coat pocket. He looked a little impressed with himself for some reason which was yet to come, me and Julia both saw his vibe which we questioned. He was walking towards his black Nissan truck but before he got in, he turned around to us and spoke up
"Come on then, let's go get her" he said. I jogged a little to the car getting in the front seat whilst Julia walked to the car not really caring. She sat behind us eventually getting in and Dad drove off.
