Chapter 35:

(Dylan's POV)

We got back to the house in silence, I didn't want to say anything to upset her because she didn't need that right now but I knew I couldn't drop the subject either so I decided that we I should take her out into the world. I knew she had her white eye situation but she needed to see the world the way I see it to appreciate what she's got. I understand that she has the hard decision to say goodbye to her family but she doesn't know what she has install. We were in the car driving to the Michael tower at the tallest point of town.

"Where are we going?" She asked turning to face me from the window. She upset expression was written all over her face and whatever happened in the woods with Joe must have really hit home.

"We're going out" I said which confused her

"But my eyes?" She asked

"Don't worry about it. It's a worry free trip" I said smiling to try and cheer her up. She half smiled back as she turned up the radio.

"It is the twenty seventh on a Tuesday at half past two and you are listening to Cloud radio"

" it's Tuesday?" She asked sounding surprised.

"Yeah I guess so" I replied

" I have to go to work there is a deadline that needs doing. If I'm not there-" she said panicking before interrupted her.

"You've not been there for a while Ella. You don't need to worry about work anymore" I explained

"But its my job" she said not grasping the new concept she has been brought into.

"You don't have to go" I stated not really making my point clear enough.

"Yes I do, I still need to pay you back. I have bills. I have insurance and not to mention my college loans" she said making me laugh

"Non of that matters anymore. You can still pretend to be dead but still live your life like before." I said which she then understood.

"Oh" she simply said. I turned from the road and saw how she was trying to process this information that she hadn't taken into account for.

"If you want to work, we can still sort that out" I said just in case to make her feel better.

"No, that's fine. I'll just ..." She said before going quiet as I pulled up outside the building. I turned to face her as she shrugged of her thoughts

"You can do whatever you want to do" I stated taking her hand.

"But before you do that, follow me" I carried on before we got out of the car.

"And why am i following you to the Michael tower?" She asked closing the door behind her, we walked towards each other, me taking her hand so I could lead her to the top level. Her mood had completely changed after seeing Joe but hopefully what she will see will change that.

"Well you are immortal now and we always experience the finest things in life that not many others can experience." I explained as we got into to the elevator.

"And the Michael tower is your example?" She commented sarcastically leaning her head on my shoulder, I could feel her worry start to practically fall of her. I coughed out a laugh as we went up the levels of the building.

"A little bit yeah" I said intertwining our fingers together. Quickly and briefly, i remembered when i thought about a few days ago before i left when she didn't wake up and i started to get anxious if she would ever wake.

*Flashback*

I looked over her lifeless body, getting angry that i was seeing her in this state. Julia was also in the room wanting to see the transformation for herself. I stood up abruptly and muttered something as i walked out of the room.

"Going to get some water" I murmured speed walking out of the room. I ran down the stairs and outside and just simply took some deep breaths in to calm down but when my dad was filling the car with something, i tried to hold it in.

"Are you alright son? you look like you need a break from in there" he said carrying on walking forwards and backwards.

"She's not changing. She's not waking up. She looks dead dad! How long will this take? It shouldn't take this long" I said exasperated relieving my anger but not shouting. He stood calmly leaning on the door listening to me rant crossing his arms and being patient.

"There isn't a specific time to it Dylan, everyone is different in the transition, some longer than others, besides she's only been like this for a day" He explained trying to help.

"But it's not supposed to be happening at all, it's not normal " I angrily stated.

"It will be what it will be. Fretting about it only makes it worse" He spoke. And even though the feeling of worrying about her never went away, he had a point. I would just have to wait.

*Flashback over*

It was a feeling i didn't particularly want to remember but it came back. We stood close and together as the elevator doors opened to the top floor, I led her to a janitors closet and opened the door at the back of the room.

"Where are we going?" she asked, curiosity getting the best of her.

"Here" I said as i opened the door to the balcony at the top of the building. The wind hit us but her reaction was more speechless the the temperature. The sun was perfect for this moment, the buildings aligned precisely and you could see the forest and the river from afar. I thought she was going to let go of my hand but instead she stood there stunned by the view before us.

"This view, how did you know about it?" She asked not prying her eyes away.

"Me and Scott used to come up here when we needed a break from the world. He found it first when he was on a temp job here" I explained as she turned to face me smiling. She pressed her lips onto mine once like before, her hands on my face pulling my body closer to her, my arms wrapping around her waist and our foreheads touching.

"It's beautiful" she whispered looking into my eyes deeply.
