'This world is only gonna break your heart'

Chapter 11:

(Dylan's POV)

My house. My hidden treasure. It was out of the way of the city and civilization to have a forever home for myself. If I told myself a year ago that I was going to bring Ella here I would have thought my future self would have gone crazy. Because that would have meant that she knew my secret, something I wanted to protect her from. Apart of me wants this house to be our forever home.

We pulled up outside the house and turned off the engine. I turned to Ella to see her reaction and it was bliss. She was quiet and struck. The house was big, me and my dad hadn't planned on making it as big as we did but it worked better for the design of the house. No one was around and that's what I liked most about it, the privacy. So the size really didn't matter out here.

The house was shaped as a long triangular prism on stilts. Under the house was access to a garage under the ground where all my cars and storage was with an emergency hideout just in case. The wooden stairs led up to the front of the house which displayed the two floors of the house, with glass filling the front like an open book revealing everything inside. On the bottom floor, it was an open plan with walnut wood around the room, with white and black furniture inside. The wooden steps led upstairs to two bedrooms, the main bedroom facing the front of the house to have the view of the outside and the other at the back of the house, the bathroom, and walk-in wardrobe in between.

"That's your place?" She asked, stunned by the building.

"Yeah" I commented as I opened the door.

"How come you never brought me here?" She asked following out of the car.

"I never thought you would find out the truth about me and this house would have raised a few questions," I answered. I walked around the car to her as she stood still admiring the house. I took her hand to the steps to get us inside, very aware she needed to stop and relax after today, she's had a lot sprung on her today and she needed time.

"I'm guessing you like it?" I asked finding her reaction amusing

"Like it? Dylan, it's beautiful" She said. I could hear in her voice how genuine she was.

"The view, the house, the area, I'm surprised you leave" She continued. I laughed a little as I gave her the car keys and got my house key out of my pocket.

"I'm glad you liked it, took me and my old man a good year to build," I said opening the door, the lights automatically turning on.

"You built this?" She asked as we walked through the door. She took her heels off at the door as I walked into the kitchen to go and wash the blood off my hands. I could see her looking around at little bits in my house, things I had picked up over the years, she looked in awe as she took a deep breath in.

"Yeah, it actually could do with a renovation but that's on the to-do list," I spoke, drying my hands off. I turned to see Ella stood looking out the window looking very still.

"Ella?" I asked, she turned on the spot, her hair swinging around, her glow was mesmerizing.

"Hmm?" She breathed. I walked towards her, placing my hand on her cheek and the other on her waist.

"Are you okay?" I questioned, noticing her tiredness and her distance.

"I will be." She replied giving a half-smile. I brought her to my chest, my chin resting on top of her head as her grip tightened around me, fully embracing the hug. I pressed a soft kiss on top of her temple and let her go.

"I'm sorry it happened this way," I stated, moving a piece of hair out of her eyes and behind her ear.

"I'm not." She said back. I looked at her with a confused expression.

"I thought I lost you, and now I've got you back," She said.

"You didn't lose me, I couldn't let you go, you were my everything every day after I left you," I whispered.

"I never understood why you were telling me you loved me and then left." She said, looking away from my gaze.

"I left to protect you, but it didn't work because 'it' is still after you," I explained. She was still turned away when I turned her head to me gently.

"You never lost me," I said looking into her eyes. She wrapped her arms around my neck pulling herself closer to me as I pressed my lips onto hers. I slightly pushed her to the railing as our kiss deepened.  I could feel her moan and that's when I knew I needed her, here and now.

"Dylan" She moaned which sounded more like a whisper.

"Ella," I said stopping it. I grabbed her hand and lead her up the stairs to my room. I took her arm and pulled her to me, kissing her intensely, and then pushing her to the bed. She giggled as I rolled on top of her, pulling her so she then flipped on top of me.
