'thing to do'
Chapter 39:
(Dylan's POV)
We were driving back with the radio on, not saying a word. She hadn't told me what had been said or even if anything happened back with her conversation with Joe. I took a quick glance over at her, still keeping my eyes on the road, she was looking aimlessly out of the window in her own little world.
"Dylan I need to tell you something." She said suddenly out of the blue.
"What's up?" I asked wondering what she was going to say.
"Since I've turned, strange things have been happening to me."She stated.
"Like the blood?" I asked wondering if it were along those lines. If it's the blood, then I can tell her it's normal and she doesn't have to worry.
"No. It started when I were out with Lorenzo. I'm gonna sound crazy but it was a voice. A male voice. It happened again earlier." She explained. A voice? Who would want to contact ... it.
"Did he want to play games? Kind of like it was controlling?" I asked wondering, hoping even that she hadn't been marked.
"Yeah how did you know that?" She asked surprised that I knew. I cursed under my breath as she turned to me.
"What did it last say to you?" I asked wondering when he were going to attack.
"He wanted to make me make us go to see your grandfather? I know it's weird-" She explained but I interrupted.
"That was where 'it' was going to attack. Because that voice is 'it', I have no idea why he's targeted you now your immortal, but tomorrow we'll need to go to my parents, find out what's going on" I explained.
"'it' ?" She asked sounding worried. We would have gone to my parents now but we've got her parents following us to mine, and I don't think it's the best time for a family get together type situation.
"He's planning to make his move tonight as my parents, it's best actually that we don't go" I said trying to make the situation better but miserably failing.
"Let's change the subject, make it less awkward in here. How did it go with Joe?" I asked using this chance to find out.
"Do you think we jumped into things?" She asked completely ignoring the question.
"Why? Did he say that?" I asked wondering how it links into my question.
"No ... well yes but I was thinking about it. We did just rush back into being together. Do you think we're rushing things a little?" She asked, making me wonder where this was coming from.
"No I don't, I wanted to be with you and I didn't want to waste any time messing around." I stated.
"It's just that everything has happened so quickly, I'm with you, then I'm immortal, it just scares me what could be next." She said opening up as I pulled into the forest meaning that we were close to my house.
"So what are you suggesting?" I asked wondering where this was going.
"I'm not suggesting anything. I just want to make sure we're doing the right thing by being together." She said as I pulled to a stop outside the house.
"It's sounding like you want to call a break" I stated as I shut the car down.
"Why are you reacting like this?" She asked
"How do you expect me to react?" I asked getting out of the car. She too got out of the car, slamming the door as her parents parked up and got out themselves.
"For a second there Dylan I thought you were lost" John said as he closed his car door.
"It's a little remote from everything but it's beautiful here. Wherever did you find this place?" Kim asked as they came closer towards the house.
"Dylan and his dad made this place." Ella spoke up, being as if we didn't just have a little spat in the car.
"Oh my god." Kim commented as we walked towards the front door admiring the view. I took a glance towards Ellie wanting to finish our conversation from the car, but I knew we both needed to drop it otherwise her parents would pick up on it. I hoped that we would continue the conversation, I wanted to know where she was standing in this.
"Let's get inside." I said coming out of my thoughts opening the front door. Walking inside of the house, I could hear the compliments given as they viewed it like a museum. I took a glance over at Ella and she mouthed 'We'll talk later' before John spoke up.
"This place is incredible." He stated as he sat on the sofa, lily following after keeping her distance from him. Me and Ella joined them but at the opposite end.
"Yeah, there are still some renovations that need doing but other than that." I said complaining, when I say renovations I mean the heat this place absorbs is crazy, even in winter it feels like Madrid.
"The features as well." Kim said completely distracted.
"Anyone for a drink?" I asked as Ella sat down next to me. I stood up as John told me what he wanted.
"A bear if you've got one." He answered.
"I'll have some orange juice thanks." Kim said. I looked over at Ella awaiting her answer but she stood up.
"I'll help." She stated standing, following me in to the kitchen.
"You're not going to drop this are you?" She asked keeping a caution on the volume of her voice. I took out a bear from the fridge and started preparing the drinks.
"I don't know where it came from that's all." I stated as she sat on the island watching me.
"But you do admit we did just pick up where we left off when you came back." She said.
"Yeah I do." I answered looking for the bottle opener.
"That's all I'm saying." She commented not giving any more into the conversation. However I wanted to continue, there is so much more to be said now she's opened this bucket of worms.
"But it isn't just that, is it?" I asked making her confused.
"This all came from when you spoke to Joe." I explained further as I found the bottle opener.
"No he just made a point that I agreed with." She said trying to justify herself.
"Let's talk about this later." I said picking up the drinks.
"We are so talking about this later." She answered following me back into the lounge where John had made himself at home. Kim was sat a little awkwardly as they both watched the baseball game on the TV. They were completely unaware of our now occurring argeument.

Romance"I want you back," he said as I looked up from the ground. "Don't" I said trying to stop him, I didn't want to talk about us anymore. We were over and this connection wasn't helping us in any way, in fact, it just pulled us closer to each other. "No...
