'A wicked game to play'
Chapter 42:
(Ella's POV)
I was waiting at the gates after being away from him for a month. Looking back 5 years ago, I can't believe we actually went to live in Virginia wanting a change of scenery and a month ago I decided to come back to sort the house out, bring some of our stuff back and to see friends and family, but being away for a month from him was driving me crazy. My clothes were soaked from the rain still, because I decided that not bringing a coat would be a good idea. I had gone for all black today for some reason, my black knitted of the shoulder crop sweater with my black skinny jeans and my black heeled boots. I was just thankful that I didn't decided to wear white, otherwise I would be a little exposed with the rain and all.
I wanted to go back to after a week away, it had gotten boring a little annoying with Lisa coming round to see if I was okay. I had spoken to Dylan about it but he thought I should have but for some reason I just didn't. I had been feeling ill, actually I had the works just hurling all the time, especially around weird smells. Even now just standing here, the smell of women's perfume and men's cologne was bothering me a little. I could see a group of people in the distance come out with their suitcases and luggage, Dylan being one of them.
He was looking around the room looked and lost until his eyes found mine. I ran up to him and pushed my body to his, my head resting in the crook of his neck. The atmosphere and the surrounding blended into one as I focused my energy on Dylan. I felt his hands slip around my waist, holding me tighter as his suitcase dropped.
"Hey." I whispered not wanting to let go of the moment.
"Hey." He whispered back squeezing me tighter before we let go of each other. Our hands immediately intertwined together as he picked up suitcase. I led him out the airport towards the car as we spoke.
"So how was your flight?" I asked.
"It was okay, a little rough because of the weather but it could have been worse. Are you feeling any better?" He asked. We had spoken twice every day on the phone and considering that I'm immortal, I shouldn't be getting sick. I should have spoken to Lisa about it considering she might have an idea but I wasn't thinking straight.
"I'm okay now, it's passed now." I lied hoping he wouldn't click on. When I him, he was really worried and wanted to come back to make sure I was okay but I told him it was nothing. It was probably nothing that's the thing, I bet I'm fine and I've caught some weird bug, I'll be fine by the end of the week.
"Okay but if it comes back then we're going to have to check it out with someone." He said still sounding worried as we left the main entrance.
"You'll know if it comes back." I commented making him laugh.
"So your parents want us to go to that ball thing they do tonight." I said talking about the invite that Lisa gave us last night when she came round to mine, checking up on me. He huffed sounding like he wasn't in the mood for a big do tonight, and neither was I but I thought I would put it out there, I just wanted to be with him and be a little selfish tonight. He hadn't really spoken to his parent's since we left, I think the only time he had spoken to them was when he wanted them to check up on me when I came back to make sure I was okay. He needed to speak to them really, to clear the air since the event at their house.
"Do we have to?" He asked sounding as if he was moaning.
"We don't have too ... but they have been talking about it for a week." I spoke as we got into the car.
"We could probably drop in later but I'd rather be with you." He stated as I started the engine. I felt his hand on my thigh as I drove out of the car park, his touch becoming a major distraction. I quickly stole a glance and saw that his attention was elsewhere in the car as he began catching me up on the flight and what had happened after we had spoken yesterday. It wasn't anything excited and even he admitted that nothing really happened, but it was a time filler. His hand began to slide up my thigh as he spoke, each time making me blush and become more flustered. What was this man doing to me? Was he trying to get us into a car accident?
"Stop it." I muttered as we pulled into the road where the house was.
"Stop what?" He said, even his tone knew what he was doing.
"You know what." I commented
"Sorry I can't turn of the charm, it's something I was born with." He said being his sarcastic usual self. I looked over at him quickly with a serious face and he smiled innocently making me laugh as I parked the car. As we got out, his warm hand slipped away from my thigh, making the feeling worse because I now felt as if I needed him. Damn him and his charms. I went to the boot helping him with his bags.
"I've got it" He said ushering me to the door. I unlocked it, locking it behind myself as he went straight upstairs. Once I got into the living room where he was stood, I ran up to him for the second time today and pushes my body onto his, taking ahold of his hand to pull him towards the bedroom.
"And you wanted me to turn off the charm.." He commented sarcastically making me laugh. It's good to have him back.

Romance"I want you back," he said as I looked up from the ground. "Don't" I said trying to stop him, I didn't want to talk about us anymore. We were over and this connection wasn't helping us in any way, in fact, it just pulled us closer to each other. "No...
