Chapter 50:

(Ella's POV)

"Eric, if you don't get up you're going to be late for work!" I shouted in from the kitchen. I saw a figure appear from the doorway hoping it was my teenage son who finally decided to listen for once, but when I saw Dylan suited and ready for the day, I took a deep breath in getting sick of asking. But as I stood drinking my coffee, I couldn't believe how fast time had flown, it feels like it was yesterday that Dylan had reappeared into my life and now it's been 25 years since then.

"What's up?" He laughed at my reaction as I set my coffee down on the kitchen surface.

"I'm supposed to be dropping him off on my way to work but if he doesn't hurry up i'm going to leave him here to be late." I stated. I walked over to him and sorted out his tie as it was a little crooked. After we got married and had Eric, he took up work with his family so Julia wasn't holding all the weight, but with the condition he doesn't have to move away from home. And even though Dylan's efforts to get us out of this town were pushed, I couldn't do it. It's been hard however, I've had to loose contact with my family because of the ageing and I've practically isolated myself from the world other than my work outside of town. I work for an internet business which means that I do most of my work outside an office based building. I couldn't take not doing anything now that Eric's grown up.

"You know you won't leave him here." He commented bringing me out of my thoughts. I looked up still feeling the connect build between us even after all these years. Quickly pressing a kiss on the corner of his mouth, I pushed myself away when I saw Eric appear from the corridor.

"Ew gross." He said making Dylan role his eyes.

"Just a teenage thing to say." Dylan spoke up making me snigger as I went to go and put my Navy coat on.

"It's not a teenage thing to say, it's a normal thing to say" Eric responded as he grabbed his baseball cap from the side.

"Okay." Dylan said sarcastically making Eric sarcastically laugh back.

"Are you going now?" Dylan asked before he bit into an apple.

"Yeah, why?" I asked. God he looked good in a suit.

"Well i'm early so I could drop you both of if you want?" He answered. I was okay with that, and I don't think Eric's bothered because its as long as he gets a rid anywhere he's fine.

"Are you ready to go now?" I asked shuffling towards the door so he would get the hint. He nodded before putting the apple in the bin.

"Let's go then." Dylan stated to Eric who walked out after me, with Dylan following behind locking up. I got in the front seat getting my phone out when Eric joined me in the car, answering the phone.

"Hey Aunt Jules, what's up?" He asked. I saw the missed calls and texts I had on my phone, I looked who they were from Lisa and Julia. How had I not seen these in the house? More importantly, why were they calling? Just as I were about to text back, my phone suddenly died. I started looking in my bag but then remembered that I forgot my phone charger. I got out of the car to go back and get it when Dylan called me.

"What are you doing?" Dylan asked as he got into the car.

"I forgot my charger, I'll be a second." I answered.

"And you were moaning about Eric making us late." He said loud enough out the window making me turn to laugh a little. I made my way towards the living room looking everywhere near wires and books to see if I placed the charger anywhere but I couldn't find it.

"Looking for something." A voice I had heard before called from the back of my head. I turned around suddenly thinking that someone was hear, not picturing a face to voice. I saw no one and thought it was nothing. I carried on searching when I heard I heard it again.

"It's not over there."  The voice spoke up again. I moved my body to face the direction of where the voice was coming from when my voice rang out.

"Who's there?" I asked when I still couldn't see anyone. I wasn't scared, because if someone was in the house, it's not like they can kill me.

"Nobody. Somebody. Anyone." The person said again from behind me.

"Where are you?" I asked turning around following the voice. But yet again, no one was behind me. I don't know why but the voice was bringing out a fear that I hadn't felt in a while ... the fear of dying. I was scared and there was nothing that would change it unless I got out of here. I walked for the doorway when a sharp object was pushed into my back, piercing into my skin.

"Behind you." The voice spoke in my ear. 'It' . When the blade was taken from my back, I concave to the floor overwhelmed with the pain.

"Ella!" I heard Dylan shout from outside sounding worried. The panic in his voice was evident when I saw him run in, sliding on the floor to reach me, holding my body on his lap.

"Who did this? Ella you need to stay awake." He asked as my eyes fluttered open. The feeling of a strong intense venom from where the blade pierced into my skin began spreading around my body, making it's way slowly but strong taking away all of my energy to stay awake.

"Ella come on." Dylan mutter begged, the desperation in his voice was evident.

"Mom!" I heard Eric screech. From the corner of my eye, I saw his rush to my side, taking my hand into his as I held onto it tightly.

"I can undo this." Eric said, something getting caught in his throat and he squeezed my hand back. The struggle to keep my eyes open because of the pain was starting to overwhelm me, it was as if I needed to sleep and I was on the verge of fading away. I felt Dylan's warm lips on my cold forehead as tears forces there way out of my eyes.

"Go!" Dylan's voice told Eric. I knew that Eric needed to be alone and undisturbed to be able to travel time, but when I felt his hands slip from my grasp, the frozen air hit my palm not wanting my son to leave me.

"It's going to be okay Ella. Just don't leave me okay?" He said lifting my body up, increasing the pain to strike up my spine. I cringed in pain as my head hit his chest, letting my hear his heartbeat. It was quick and full of adrenaline as I cried. I knew that I was dying, and whatever that blade was coated with was poison to kill an immortal, but why me? What hurt me more than the pain was the pain this was putting Dylan and Eric in and the fact that it was me putting them through this. The pain was hitting my head as my eye lids became heavier, the immense emotion of fading away was finally took me aback.

"Ella stay with me." Dylan spoke, his voice laced with fear. I wanted to tell him so many things, but my voice was not allowing me to speak. I was frozen.

"Ella." He commented as my eyes closed.

"Ella!" He cried out as my body felt lifted and the towering warmth that I could feel had faded into the unknown.
