Ore

Abuti Oratile and Ayo left the day after the interview, today is the day of Anele’s baby shower. Lewatle, Oratile, Jr, Vuyo, Bubu, Ayo and Tshepo, Lewatle’s partner are all in Cape Town at the Sky hotel. On the roof top pool.
My mother is so angry with me, she reminded me of the day she wanted to strangle me, I blocked her numbers after that phone call. She accused me of influencing her son and daughter to not attend the baby welcome.
I laughed at first because I thought it’s a joke, how do I convince a 38 year old and a 36 year old to go anywhere they don’t want to go. The call escalated and that’s how she got blocked, Oratile and Lewatle’s phones have been on flight mode since I met them at the airport.
I asked them why they weren’t attending the event, Lewatle said blood is thicker than water, when I explained that the baby is her blood, she said if she needed a bone marrow donation, I would mostly be used and not the baby.
I hate the division, however I am done fixing relationships I did not break, good people finish last in the world. “ Are you okay?” Vuyo.
“I am good thanks.” He pecks my lips.
“Okay love birds, come this side for our picture.” Ayo.
“Not again.” Vuyo groans. The group laughs.
The guys stand behind and we sit in the chairs, we change positions and take couple pictures. Then individual, Vuyo is over us when Ayo teases him and asks for one last picture of the guys.
I swim and Vuyo joins me in the water, I see  Ayo sneaking pictures of us, when we kiss. Oratile reminds us that we have a sunset champagne boat ride. Vuyo and I are the last to leave the pool, we take a shower together and wear matching grey linen shorts and shirts.
Jr drives us to the harbour, Ayo takes more pictures. Vuyo sits first and I follow him. Lewatle takes over taking pictures. The breeze hits so beautifully, I used my phone and snap pictures of Vuyo and I, for the social.  I select a picture and post it.
“This is the life, guys, yho Ore thank you for being in our lives.” Bubu.
“She has always been the rich house wife, even growing up fancy was her.” Lewatle.
“Do you remember her fork and knife dinners.” Oratile chips in.
“How can I forget, she harassed us. I can’t wait for her kids to do the same thing.” Lewatle.
“I was classy guys, can we make a toast?” I ask and we gather near.
“A toast to more trips.”
“To more love.” Bubu.
“Will you marry me?”Vuyo. We all laugh, expect for him.
“Wait you are serious?” I ask and he takes out a ring box from his pocket.
“Bathong, Bo Vuyo batlo re bolaya.(Vuyo will kill us)” Bubu claps her hands.
“Are you sure?” I ask him now sitting.
“I am sure, you and I are healing together.” Vuyo.
“I will marry you.”
“Thank you.” Vuyo pulls me into a kiss, Ayo and Bubu ululate, the guys whistle. They chant congratulations.
“To Ore and Vuyo.” Jr. Ayo takes pictures, the ride ends. We drive to the restaurant for dinner.
“Can we please go out for drinks?” Lewatle.
“The hotel has a bar.” Her man answers. Vuyo settles the bill, Lewatle sulks all the way to the car, we buy cotton candy and get in the car.  I get in the back with Vuyo.
“Thank you for the beautiful outing.” I kiss Vuyo’s Hand and lay my head on his shoulder.
“You deserve good things only and this is just the beginning.” Vuyo smiles.
“Oh, this explains the all expenses paid trip. You are bribing us?” Oratile laughs. I raise my head and look at Vuyo, I thought everyone paid for themselves.
“The trip is sponsored by Batman.” Vuyo. He and Oratile nod knowingly.
