Jihyo's POV:
One step after another. We carefully weave the dead forest with heightened senses. Dead leaves cracked beneath the soles of each step with Tzuyu to my left and Sana to my right while I trailed slightly behind them in the center.
It was so quiet as if the trees were listening to my scared thumps of my heartbeat. The forest is so thick with tall trees that it blocks the light from the moon above. With only the rays of our flashlight illuminating our path up front.
"Hey Tzu, do you really have to be that mean to Bunnyeon?" Sana decided to break the ice, only to be greeted by Tzuyu's cold silence as a reply just as she was back then in our school days, but knowing Sana, she surely doesn't want to give up and take silence as an answer.
"Do you perhaps, still feel bad of losing Teudoongie?" She asks again and Tzuyu stopped dead in her tracks.
Uh oh, Sana knew she flicked her switch, and that's exactly the reason why I'm here.
"That's none of your concern" Tzuyu replied as plainly as possible and continued aiming her crossbow onto the dark shadows. "And don't call me 'Tzu', we're not that close. Only Y/n can call me that. Address me by my full name."
"Pshh... I can call you whatever I want Tzu" Sana shot back annoyingly and the two suddenly locked in an intense gaze amidst the darkness surrounding us.
Before the two could engage in a brutal mortal combat, I throw the Naginata as hardly as possible at the tree between them as a warning. "Come on guys, we got more important matters at hand. Killing each other ain't gonna help us find Momo." With that, I retrieved my weapon that skewered through the tree's bark when suddenly I kicked something that looks like an empty Pringles can.
"Well, that's definitely her trash. She must be close by" Sana stated before calling in a loud voice "Momo-chan!"
Tzuyu could only heave a sigh whilst shaking her head, puffing out a breath of smoke. It was getting colder and colder the more we spent more time in this haunted forest.
After a few more meters of searching, we found ourselves a clear pond under the glistening white moon and across it was "Momo chan!" Sana happily called her best friend who was still oblivious to our presence.
Well that was easy. Something doesn't feel right.
Sana immediately ran to her around the pond. As Tzuyu and I watch Sana run, our eyes never fail to spot something behind those tree lines. An ominous creature is weaving through the gaps of the trees.
"Sana!" I frantically called out but she couldn't hear me across the pond.
"I got it." Tzuyu knelt down in one knee and aimed her crossbow at the Griever.
As the Griever was about to pounce on Sana, an arrow pierced its chest in midair. The creature shrieked in pain that finally caught Sana's attention.
A gargle sound came from the creature which reminds me of the same noise it did back at the museum "Acid" I unconsciously blurted out my thoughts.
Without something to block the hazardous substance, it would definitely cause some serious harm.
With only fast dodging skills and agility as the only option, Tzuyu and I know it was just a child's play to Sana, but will Momo can?
3rd Person POV:
"Fuck. I'm out!" Dahyun said in defeat as she already spent her 5th mag dry on the mutilated creature, rendering her Rifle useless.
