Ryan's POV
I stayed in the background, watching her walk across the campus, her hair catching the sunlight as she laughed with her new friends. She looked happy. She was moving on with her life, just like I had wanted her to.
I had promised myself I would let her go, but there was still a part of me that couldn't fully walk away. Maybe I would always be watching from afar, making sure she was safe. But I knew I couldn't be part of her life again. She deserved a future without me.
With one last glance, I turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows.
Sophie was moving forward, and now it was time for me to do the same.
