Ellana's POV

'Be here same time tomorrow' and I was, almost everyday, 8am training, for weeks, Jacob and I rarely spoke, it mainly consisted of him barking orders at me, and me ignoring him.

I woke up and looked at my phone "A text from a random number?" I said in confusion, 'Hello Ellana, I would like to invite you to The Henbane River, for lunch. Hope to see you there' followed by an address, "Henbane? Could be faith I suppose" I said, trying to think of who else would be 'inviting' me to lunch.

The address from the text was over an hour away, so I quickly showered and got dressed, fed boomer and gave him a pat on the head "I'll be back later boy, don't wait up" I chuckled to myself.

I got in my truck and started it, listening to the engine rev, I started down the road listening to the radio

~SOME TIME LATER~

I pulled up to a large house with a sign that read JESSOP CONSERVATORY. I could see Peggie's everywhere, and green houses full of white flowers "Bliss" I muttered to myself 'this must be where they create the angels, creepy'.

I got out of my truck and was approached by two Peggie's, one was tall, with a bushy beard and very scruffy hair, the other was short, clean shaven and bald, and his eyes... his eyes were glossed over as if he was blind, but he watched my every move, he sent a chill up my spine, "faith is waiting for you" the taller Peggie finally spoke and motioned for me to follow.

We didn't go far, just around the back of the house, there was a beautiful garden, but it didn't have Bliss flowers, it had Lillie's and roses and carnations of all sorts, and in the center was a table and chairs, with a few trees scattered around, and also Faith, dancing around by herself, just like the night at John's ranch.

"Faith" the Peggie said softly. Faith stopped dancing and spun in our direction, she sprinted towards me, engulfing me in a hug 'right, a hugger'. "Hello Ellana" Faith spoke melodically "I'm so happy you're here, Rick you can leave us" the taller Peggie 'Rick' took his leave, but the other, the bald one, instead of leaving took a few steps to the side and stood guard.

"Please, sit. Would you like some tea?"
I stared at Faith, unsure about accepting anything " I'm not going to poison you Ellana" I raised an eyebrow " I'm not going to drug you either" she reassured me and I held my cup out for her fill. I took a long drink of the iced tea, a classic drink everyone loved in Hope County, it reminded me of the hot summers I would spend with Nick working on his plane, Grandpa and Grandma Rye always brought us iced tea.

We sat in silence for a few minutes, drinking our tea, and faith staring off into... whatever faith stares off into. "Faith?" I broke the silence "why did you invite me here?", Faith looked at me with a sad expression on her face for a moment before getting up from her chair and walking to the nearby flowers, running her hand across the Petals.

"I'd like to tell you a story Ellana, a true story" Faith spoke softly as she usually does, I got up and walked towards her "this is the story of girl, a child, bullied by her friends, abused by her family, she took to a needle for help, she was all alone, she wanted to die. But then she met The Father, he gave her hope, and confidence. The Father showed her how special she was, that she was full of love and life, he gave her a new family, one that accepted her just as she was. The girl no longer wished to die, she wanted to live, to live with her new family, to walk through Eden's Gate with them. But things started to change, men, women and children were put through trails, families were taken from their homes and baptized, and angels were created using bliss."

Faith turned her back to me, " the girl was scared, scared for the innocent families, but scared to lose her own as well, but she started to see, she started to wake up, she realized that when The Father saved her from the drugs she was poisoning herself with, that he was also poisoning her with his own drug, the bliss, he told her that her name was Faith, and that she served a purpose for Eden's Gate, but she wasn't the first Faith, nor the second or third, she was the fourth.. " Faith turned to face me "my name is.. was Rachel, but that's not who I am anymore, Rachel was weak, naive, and i am not" faith showed no emotion on her face at the last sentence.

"We're going to stop Joseph, faith" I took Faiths hands into my own " I promise you, he's not going to hurt anyone else " I gave her a reassuring smile.

Our attention was pulled pack to the table as another Peggie, a woman, who I had not seen before, set freshly made sandwiches on the table "thank you Nancy" Faith said gracefully as she led me by my hand back to my chair.

After sitting down, we ate and chatted some more, I told her a little bit about my life before the national guard, and she told me about how she grew up, and more about her family, "Faith, what's wrong with that man's eyes?" I gestured to the bald man, still standing guard, "he's an angel, you haven't seen them?" Faith seemed surprised.

"N-no I haven't" I stuttered slightly "I've seen the chosen, and the judges, but that's the first angel I've seen" Faith looked at the man for a moment and back at me, "I know, it's sad, innocent mothers, fathers, sons and daughters, brainwashed and forced to kill people who were once friends and family, for a cause they're forced to believe in, we're going to save them though Ellana, all of them".

After getting to know Faith a bit more I decided it was time to leave, "thank you for having me, truly, but I should get going, it's a long drive back to The WhiteTail Mountains" Faith and I exited the garden, walking back to my truck, "Jacob was right about you" I gave her a puzzling look "you are the one to save us all" she gave a small smile and hugged me, but tighter and longer this time. "Goodbye Faith" I returned the smile before getting into the drivers seat and starting the truck. I watched Faith fade from view in my rearview mirror as I made my way home.

The whole drive, all I could think about was the story Faith told me, and what she said about Jacob, 'did he really say I was the one to save them?' The thought wouldn't leave my mind. All of it was so heartbreaking, 'I've been through torture, but to be completely brainwashed into believing you're someone else? I couldn't even imagine'. Joseph is much more dangerous than I thought.
