As they put distance between themselves and Callisto, the girl collapsed onto the forest floor, panting.

"I-I think we've lost him."

Nimue and the others followed suit, their chests heaving with exhaustion.

The wolf boy, from earlier scrutinized Asher.

"Who's the lad?"

Nimue's gaze flicked to Asher before responding,

"I'll explain when we reach a safer location. Aria, cast a scent-off spell on him, so Callisto can't track him easily."

The girl's eyes narrowed.

"First, we need to understand what we're dealing with. If we hadn't heard your cry, Callisto would have made a feast of you!"

Nimue rose, her expression contrite.

"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have gone out alone. I went to help him." She gestured toward Asher, who stood up, waving meekly.

Nimue continued..

"There's something off about him... Callisto wants him, and it's not for a feast. He looks and perceives as human, but he passed the veil alive with Callisto."

The group's attention focused on Asher, their faces etched with puzzlement.

Slowly the girl approached Asher, her slender fingers cupping his cheek. Closing her eyes, she concentrated.

"I don't feel anything coming from him either."

The boy, sniffed the air.

"He smells normal to me."

Nimue's voice barely rose above a whisper.

"That's the thing... We need to figure out why Callisto wants him. What's so special about... him"

_POV:LEGION CLAN_

As the Sangui Clan swept into the grand hall, an aura of mystery and allure enveloped the space. Their entrance was like a whispered promise of forbidden pleasure.

The clans were present and served...

Lord Xoray's voice dripped with sarcasm as he spoke

"Her Majesty has graciously shared that she possesses an urgent message."

Queen Lyrebird took a deep breath before proceeding, her emerald eyes locking onto the assembly.

"I had a vision..."

Lord Valios rolled his eyes, scoffing as he sipped from his cup.

"Not this again"

Queen Ayla chimed in

"Your last 'vision' was a false alarm, dear Lyrebird."

Queen Lyrebird said with a firm tone

"This is different... and besides, the first one wasn't proven a false alarm. I wasn't just sure..."

Queen Lyrebird's voice remained firm

"The vision foretells the downfall of our world, caused by the existence of a single individual"

Lady Nova raised an eyebrow, her sapphire eyes sparkling with interest.
"Well, this is new."

Queen Lyrebird continued,

"Like I informed Lord Xoray before... the mere existence of this lad will cause the end of us all."
